DannyW
Might be in a position once i sell the supra to be able to purchase a car that i can just drive at the weekend and take on trackdays etc. but the question is, what to buy? The car has to be N/A, fairly exotic/rare, 2 litre or under and lots of fun, all for £6000 or less. My thoughts so far have been, integra type R, some sort of westfield type kit car or even maybe a cheap lotus elise. suggestions please.......... grahamc
wrx/sti impreza evo s14 civic type r My only question about a westfield type car is, what happens when you crash it into a wall? Will you survive??
DannyW
It needs to be n/a graham, as in non-turbo. The Mrs has got a civic type R at the minute, i don't think it's focused enough, too much off a family/shopping car. cheers.
grahamc
why, thats no fun...
DannyW
why, thats no fun... With turbos come complicated fault finding and repairs, no thanks I'm also considering a girly MX5, set up specifically for track/drift.
grahamc
hmmm, non turbo, thats difficult... MX5 does nice hand brake turns!! Civics are good, can handle NOS... and superchargers (if you decide)... NSX?? Or does that break the piggy bank??
DannyW
£6000 or less mate.
bkvj
try for an integra type R;). AE86s? a tidy one can be had for 4000-4500, they not only make a good drift car but also a very stable grip car, ultra light (850kgs). get some ITBs with it aswell, sounds amazing then. Bobbeh
Integra Type R would be my choice out of those you listed.. the Lotus will just cost you a bomb to repair, at least with the Teg you can have a reliable and fast track car.

I'm thinking along those lines too. I did a trackday in my MR2 turbo and there was an integra there, i couldnt touch him on the track, very quick! Wez
Mx5 EDIT: spend the change on some decent trackday tires
Cable
MX5 or AE86 I'm after a very cheap MX5 to arse about in myself.
DannyW
If i had an MX5 it would have some cash spent on coilovers, wheels and tyres along with brakes too. AE86's then, any for sale anywhere? and can you get them that cheap?
Guest Nicholas
Why not just keep the supra now the clutch is sorted? you wont get anything fun for use on a track for 6K.

I wouldnt dream of tracking the supra, and couldnt afford to. I'm selling up so i can buy a van for my new busines idea anyway, and the money left over will get me a decent toy to thrash about. DannyW
I'm swaying towards a track spec 1.8 litre MX5. They can be had for about £3k which leaves loads of dosh to spunk on mods to make it less gay.
