Just when i thought the car was back on track today i go for a drive with Sabrina to hunt for cheap easter eggs. As i pull away there's a cloud of Blue/White smoke. After a few seconds it goes but depending where i am in the rev range it comes back. Then as i stop at a junction i just get ingulfed in the smoke.

Im going with Valve Stem Seals. Anyone wanna comment??

James,

Exactly the same here matey and I'm convinced it's the Turbo Oil seals, well I was, until my 2nd Turbo blew up earlier - so yes - it was!

I have been having smoke on boost above 4k rpm, sometimes below and on lift off. Touch wood it's not anything worse like Piston Rings - but I think that'd smoke all the time.

Good luck.

Greg

More likely turbo seals, but check the oil isn't overfilled before panicking too much...

I love you both i think :D After driving over to Jamie's i now know that anything around 2200-2400 it starts smoking. If i let it just cost it's fine, but touch the accelerator again and hello smoke.

sounds annoying... Did you find any easter eggs???

A couple but nothing special, seems everyone else had the same idea and we were left with dark chocolate ones at £4-5 still :(

I would definitely go with Turbo Oil Seal James. I've had enough of a nightmare trying to diagnose my problem, doubt mine's the Valve Stems as it doesn't let off a puff of blue on start-up - ever, occasionally white and only seems to do it on boost and after a good run on boost on the over-run.

Hoping it's sorted matey.

James, didn't you do stem seals when the engine was apart recently? Or was it just bottom end stuff you did?

Time to get the T88 on?

TBH i can't remember, i'll have to double check but im sure it was just bottom end stuff. Would love to get the 88 on, but it means mucking about with the down pipe and IC pipe so for now it'll be cheaper to get a direct replacement.

So what turbo you going for then?

Hard one, think i'll just have to see what money i can get to play with and see what's available. If funds are low T70 again, but if i can grab a bargain T67 or may even stretch to a Gt4088. :eyebrows:

And do you think the 30 psi caused this?

Yes i belive it did :D
