Millsy
I don't know if these two things are connected, but I realised by car's still got the speed limiter on it, which I bounced off last night at 120 - private road obviously. Then this morning when I started her rather than the usual fire up to about 1200rpm then drop to around 1000rpm after a minute or so it went to about 800rpm and now idleas around 500rpm when stationary. Any ideas?
Prof. Monkey
NA or TT? I wouldnt worry, could be the weather? Mine used to do this and it is fine... Dont worry!
Millsy
It's a TT mate. Someone at work suggested it could be an air leak - maybe I've split a hose somewhere - I'll check at lunchtime.
Alex
Clean the Idle Control Valve. Reset the ECU. Check all vac hoses.
Stonkin
my auto idles about 600, always has done, i was told not to worry by Phoenix. I highly doubt hitting the jap rev limiter would have damaged anything.

Hasn't done it since so think it was probably the weather contributing - hope so anyway
