jaymdee
I have just had some new Toyo Proxy T1R's fitted to the rear of the car and now the handling feels all weird at the back end when throwing the car round corners at speed. It seems to pitch & roll far too much (it's never done this before). Anyone else had this with these tyres? I'm going to try to get Toyota to do 4 wheel alignment, but I know my rear camber adjusters are seized, so not sure how successful that wil be. Could it be the reinforced side wall reacting differently to the Michelin's? cheers for any suggestions J
markrzs
Apparently you need to run tyres in for approx 500mls, this lets them ''scrub'' a bit. It's all due to the silicone type stuff they use when making the tyre in the mould. If your alignment was ok before it should still be ok now, i don't think changing tyres makes a difference unless you have gone for either to larger or smallerl tyres. ? Jezz
I've got these on my integra. After a few hundred miles they sort themselves out. Real good tyre! Unbelievable grip and wear really well. May put a set on my supra when it comes back.

jaymdee
Thanks Guys, So basically after a few hundred miles the car may feel as it was again. I know tyres need to be scrubbed in a bit, but I've never really noticed it much before. cheers J
sarjo
I could always borrow them and give them back to you 'worn in' if you'd prefer
Guest mk47
i just got some new tyres for the rears yesterday and was playing up drive wise, although i was told that to give it 100-200 miles to settle in. ive sucessfully completed 200 miles since then and they are great. Nic
Have you checked the tyre pressures? Might be worth experimenting with them and seeing if it improves things.
imi
I have just had some new Toyo Proxy T1R's fitted to the rear of the car and now the handling feels all weird at the back end when throwing the car round corners at speed. It seems to pitch & roll far too much (it's never done this before). Anyone else had this with these tyres? J Had these on the rear of My supra, no complaints with Grip.....and they lasted 21K miles and I am sure you agree that that is a lifetime.. I now have Eagle F1s on the rear, will see how these wear....and btw: still Toyos in the front...upto about 24K miles now
Ian C
My Pirelli's feel fine from the word go, although they have a lot less grip for about 10 miles, can't believe some tyres take 200 to 500 miles to sort out but then I've only ever used Pirelli's -Ian
jaymdee
Have you checked the tyre pressures? Might be worth experimenting with them and seeing if it improves things. Yes Nic. Had them set to 34 when put on. I then reduced them to 32 and it felt a bit better. I'll give a week or so and see how they feel. cheers. I must say I liked the Michelin Sport Pilots I had last time, but only got 7500 miles from them !!! J

Shovels
I've just had Eagle F1's fitted - same thing - feels like the back end is 'loose' - not nice at all! I'm hoping they're going to wear in soon.
