stupra
I apologise for the title of this thread, but i cant call her anything differant. Just been down the garage, an on the way back i see a women being pushed about by this bloke, as i've got closer, he's given her a slap !, now i cant stand women beaters, so i slam my anchors on, an jump out the car, an tell him to back off. This twat does no more than starts gobbin off at me, telling me to fuck off, an that it aint nothing to do with me. I asked the women if she was ok, an she said no, so i said to the guy,. walk away mate, an leave her alone. He doesn't like this, walks over, an takes a couple of swings at me, after backing away from the first few, i stand my ground, give him a couple of slaps, an he goes down. Now here's the fucked up bit, this women starts screaming at me, an telling me to leave her bloke alone, she then helps him up an starts cuddling him, giving me a load of abuse !!!. I just got in me car an left em to it. Guess she'll be ok till the next time he wants to use her as a punch bag. But i wont be stopping the car. Max Headroom
Pretty much what abused women do, they dont know anything else. Good for you stopping and giving the bloke a slap but it could have resulted in you getting a good kicking.

i-macca
Domestics are always best stayed clear of, if in doubt call the cops along. I've seen this happen so many times. I'll never understand women like that, 'he beats me up, but only cos he loves me'. FFS, sort it out..

I'll never understand women like that, 'he beats me up, but only cos he loves me'. FFS, sort it out.. Yes but how do you know it's a domestic? It could be something else (ex boyfriend, bullying, mugging, etc)... If everyone just walks past then it only gets worse for the whole of society... i-macca
I totally see where you're coming from, but unfortunately we live in a time where it's just not safe to come in between two people doing things like this. Nine times out of ten you will come off worse! I think stupra was quite lucky to get away how he did. I don't live in a particularly nice town and I've seen it happen so many times, you go in to try and help and all of a sudden you're the one getting the kicking and getting carted off in a meat wagon. Sad but true.
geoffvalenti
Brave or stupid, you've got to admire his guts for stopping and trying to help out Personally I think I'd have just called the Police and let them deal with it, but it could have easily been someones wife taking a beating by a mugger and it's nice to know that there are people public spirited enough to stop and see if they can help. Daston
yeah good on ya for getting out to help out you dont get that much these days, the other week I saw a brawl between 3 guys in the middle of the high street, its sad fully grown men wrestling at 1 in the afternoon. I was going to step in but then the bobby's came round the corner

Simon K
Seen this many-a-time whilst working as a doorman. Girls getting slapped by their guys, then when you step in, you become the target. Any normal girl would walk off, leave / charge the guy, but once a mug, always a mug, and they attract these pratts, loving the highs and lows of an abusive relationship. Without any witnesses, your couple of slaps (despite being the right thing) could of got you a ABH charge, as the couple could of reported you to the police, adjusted their story and you would be charged. Police, like water, always goes for the easy route, and will charge you for your punches, as they would have two statements saying you did it. Your statement of how he hit her, would be just aqcusation, esepecially if she denies it. Anyone driving past, would of just seen you hit him. Dont get me wrong, you did well though, and should pat yourself on the back, especially in this day and age of "Its not my problem". I suppose my "Smariton days" are long gone, as the number of times Ive tried to help, then have them snap back at me. SBK
grahamc
I say you did the right thing. I have done this in the past, and a mate of mine has done the same. The difference was, the one he stopped, was a mugging... To put yourself at risk, for someone you dont know, takes something...
raymanuk
There will always be those situations, I think you did the right thing and stood for what is right. One day she will get hers and he will get his. Brave of you though as you could of come off a lot worse. Good for you fella:thumbs: Sounds like those two deserve each other. Charlotte
Well done for stopping. Like Geoff said, it could've been someone being mugged or something so good on you. The reason she probably came to his defence is because she has to go home with him and she didn't want there to be further action at home. I'm guessing anyway, just from what you've said.
