94 TT6 - The dream car

First Post sort of stolen from my new members post but wanted to start a project thread 🙂

After looking at the climbing prices of Mk4s, i resigned myself to the fact it was always out of reach until one day i decided that enough is enough. Ive had all sorts of cars over the years, Rx7s, s13s, evo, dc5 and my last big build was my 465bhp chaser.

I sold the chaser, dc5 and rx7 and started looking in japan for the 'right' car for me. I wanted a silver, BPU only TT6 and after a year and a half and bidding on 5 or 6 cars i finally won one!

fast forward four months due to Covid it arrived at port! I get there and the car is open, and missing stuff!! clearly stolen UK side if im honest, wires cut etc. Not to mention scratches on the bodywork! In my rage i loaded the car and drove out of port without thinking, and that was basically me accepting the car as is! rookie mistake.

The car is perfect other than missing most of the aftermarket parts i wanted to sell on, which is annoying.

Couple of pics from when I got it home and whats missing and damage etc

*edit*

Clearly didn't read the rules about project threads, sorry mods!

Couple of days after I got home I had the tracker installed and gave the car its first wash. Came out okay other than the obvious damage

I then fit the trd wing id bought before the car landed, and realised when I took the following picture 1. The exhaust had to go and 2. The rear bumper had seen paint in its lifeIMG-20211006-WA0000.thumb.jpeg.fdaf2f2a056afc6cce668023c9fdddb9.jpeg

So set about finding another exhaust system of someone who's a member on here, if I can find the username I will of course mention, lovely guy, lovely car and a pleasure to meet! The old exhaust was horrific

I know have a 3" cat back fitted, much more supra like.

Fast forward a few weeks I have done a cambelt and waterpump, replaced the air filter, fitted my ganadors and got it registered!

My girlfriend is very talented at painting so I've had the front bumper, lip, ganadors, rear bumper done and they look incredible. She also three stage polished it for me. Why do it myself when she's better eh!

Still on the look out for a couple of things for it, but just enjoying it!

I have some skirts and spats to fit but unfortunately they need some work to make them 'right' as im trying to get perfection or at least close!

Nice progress mate.

Lucked out having a girlfriend that is a good painter, very cool. 🙂

So what else are you planning and can we see some photos after the paintwork/polishing please?

Good amount of work done given it’s not been here that long, keep it up! 👍

Cheers.

Thanks Pete, i have actually taken any pictures since it was painted and polished which is criminal i think! hah.

Not much happening with the car for now, just been enjoying it on the odd dry day. Drove down to meet up with @Chingy to sell the oem spoiler was really good to meet you my friend.

In the quiet times coming towards the holidays i have been putting my trade (IT Nerd) to good use and have 3d printed a cupholder for the car as i dont smoke anyway and i like to be able to have a drink not scald me when driving! currently printed in PLA plastic which wont tolerate the temps in the summer but im going to look into PETG and ABS once the holidays have passed and i have some time and money to invest.

Fits pretty good, if anything the OEM plastic is a little too close to the can when you put it in there but it does go in!

until the winter weather passes i think i will just be looking for an A pillar to replace mine or i might start the slow and horrible process of fibreglass repairing it!

Fellow Alpine Silver lover here. 😉 Congrats on the purchase.

That sucks regarding the thieving port rats, but I guess it could always be worse. When toying with the idea of emigrating, one of my biggest concerns would be shipping the Supra. 😅

Loving the cup holder. If you ever feel like printing another, I'll take one off you. 🙂

not much action going on here with the weather etc. I have been trying to get the cup holders printed in a better material but its pushing prices up. when they are 95gbp from australia is difficult to figure out a stopping point when doing it myself for resale really.

In the meantime, Kat told me she took some DLSR pics of the supra after it was painted and polished so will chuck some in here along with her Chaser than she painted last year

Nothing much going on at the moment, getting it ready for a couple of meets etc. Bought an SRD cooling plate, just need to paint it and fit.

Got my cup holder finished and painted, might repaint in grey to match the plastics in time not sure as I'm toying with carbon skinning the interior pieces

Not much happened with the supra for a while, part of me hates to admit it but i cant bond with it. Ive not given it much of a chance not using it all that much but i have had it out a bit more lately and it is growing on me. in the meantime i finally got the new wheels, and the girlfriend painted them up for me, and i got a picture taken for me at a local meet:

292565933_10166557562120344_1112887314093991080_n.jpg.b8d66c196bd5dc1c5aa8a70ddf7a9adf.jpg

Wheels are Advan RS-D, and other than needing a tiny spacer at the front they are absolutely perfect for me. Next up was something ive always said my supra needed was headlights! i am a huge fan of the facelift lights so a call to Keron and next day they arrived. fitted up the same evening and other than a filthy car it looks SO much better!

1869974810_NewHeadlights.thumb.jpg.5ac62a08213569a783b7ec7484c80512.jpg

That brings me up to everything fitted, i do have some brakes going on soon, currently in paint (like everything i buy!) but here is a sneak peak:

18z 6pot Calipers off an Audi Q7 with 360mm ISF discs and custom brackets, should stop well!

and lastly, a few emails have been exchanged with Lee from SRD so watch this space!
