Real Metal Bodyshop recommendations - Hampshire

Hi all.

Long time no speak, I hope you are all doing well.

I am looking for some recommendations on coach work companies in the Hampshire area which will take on the body repair aspect of a restoration project them I am doing.

The car in question (not a Supra) has suffered badly from rear arch rust, the manufacturer does not produce replacement panels and neither is there any aftermarket panel copies.

So this specialist needs to be able to work with metal i.e make a new arch from actual steel, I need a good job done here, I don't want to just fill it full of body filler, that's what happened with the owner before which caused this issue.

The also need the body shop to do a great job on the paint, I will be looking to get the whole car repainted as the paint has suffered over the years too.

Last thing, cost.. So I am not a millionaire, yes I can find a coachworks company who works on prestigious cars which work with real metal repairs but again this is a minefield and I don't want to be taken for a ride in terms of cost. I know its going to be a fair few thousand to do but still cost is a factor, after all there is an upper limit with the value of the car anyway.

They're nowhere near Hampshire, so apologies if it's not any use but Retropower up Birmingham way cover this sort of stuff.

They've become quite popular after gathering quite a youtube following, so the prices may be a bit extreme as well but I thought I'd least throw the name in there in case.

I used Skuzzle Motorsport near Sparsholt to re-fabricate my rusted arches and sills, and their mates next-door HD Paintworks to paint it afterwards...seems good to my untrained eye, and my usual mechanic was complimentary...

I also heard good things about Paul Baker Metalwork near Fishers Pond, and Pitt Lane Classic Car Restorations, but they were both too booked up for my timeframe.

Other option maybe would be to get some rear arches/quarters from a crashed/scrap Supra if yours are too far gone as probably easier to weld in replacements rather than try to re-fabricate from scratch.

I'd say this was a better and cheaper option, loads of small welds to keep the heat down and then grind them back.

The car in question isn’t a Supra going by the first post. However, this is definitely applicable and sensible for anyone else in this position (with their Supra!).
