Top work mate. Loving the seats too. Very jealous there.

Thanks mate. Was lucky with the seats as managed to get a set after the Speed was discontinued. Do suit these cars really well.

Have you got some sort of wax oil on the rear? I’m confused by the finish on the back panel ?? Love the lights !

No mate, probably the lighting in the workshop as it looks spot on in person. No wax or oil, just polished. Lights are care of my good mate Harry Moore. He did such a great job on these, I’d almost forgotten how good they look having been boxed up safely for a year or so. Can’t wait to see what magic Harry does on my headlights as well, should finish the lighting off nicely. 🙂

Looks great, love that diffuser

Thanks, the diffuser has turned out really well and finishes the rear off really well. Wasn’t an easy fit as I had the molded rear spats, but true to form Matt found a way to make it work. The two tone as well works so well, really happy with it. 🙂

Coming along nicely now! Love the diffuser also but will it stand up to exhaust heat as it's pretty close?

Hi Tyson, time will tell mate, but think it should be ok. 🤞

Matt got the rear screen back in today with the new correct OEM rear seal (thanks Paul at Whifbitz for supplying) and the fuel filler flap cover. Rear is almost done and looking mighty fine.

Its sooo close. Hope your garage is all tidied out and vac and cleaned ready to receive it 😄

Thanks Mike.

No, garage is in a right state, been a dumping ground on account of no car in it for over a year! Still, weather is good so time to start getting it ready I guess! Car won’t be home long as it has a long list of work to do over with Lee P and the team at SRD when it’s back together.

Hoping it can be buttoned up in time for Go Japan at Brands in September. 🤞 🙂

Little update from Matt today, he’s got the rear carbon number plate garnishes fitted, and also the door handles are now on plus the electric folding mirrors have been stripped down and given a good soak in WD40 and re-greased. Passenger side working perfectly, but drivers side is still struggling to open without a helping hand. Hoping it frees up, but we will see. Just waiting on parts now.

What a nice build and those tinted indicators are the nuts! 😎

Thank you mate, means a lot. Glad you like the tinted indicators, has to be one of my favourite custom touches that Matt has done, they work really well. 🙂

Hi Folks,

Had some more news and photos from Matt today. New windscreen and seal fitted along with the new rear quarter glasses. Front screen trim has a couple marks in it, but think that’s pretty normal and to be expected really (from storage/packing).

It’s another big step towards getting the car finished and back on the road. Big thank you to Matt and his brother for getting the glass work finished. 🙂

Afternoon All,

So bit more progress on the interior. All glass work now in so cabin is dust free. Matt has been busy installing the rear seat, the reverse camera mirror is now in, as are the carbon inner door handles, lower carbon glovebox and carbon centre console lid. The new boot mat and floor mats are also in.

Unfortunately my Carbing rear strut brace doesn’t fit. Annoying as I had it powdercoated in the dark copper to match the front brace. It’s not even close as it’s too long. 😢

I’ve decided to hold off on fitting the carbon windscreen scuttle panel, will look at this again when we paint the engine bay. Ordered a new OEM scuttle panel in the meantime, so once that turns up we can get the bonnet fitted. 🙂

Once that’s done we are just waiting on the new wheels and my reworked headlights from Harry Moore. Car can then go to SRD for the next stage.

Actually, I thought the Carbing rear brace also bolts into the 4 holes that the OE bracing uses? Maybe you've been sent the wrong one by accident?

I don't know why this didn't occur to me when I saw your post yesterday!

That strut brace is shocking, how can they get it so wrong

No idea mate, can only assume they put the wrong brace in the bag? It 100% said Supra MK4 / JZA80 on the label. 😕

God I hope my carbing braces fit did you buy from Whifbitz?

I did mate, Paul is speaking with his supplier to see what can be done, hopefully they can help. 🤞

Indeed, it’s clearly the wrong one as it will never fit. Just not an issue I ever expected as Carbing are supposed to be the best out there and the front brace fitted perfectly. Just my luck I guess! 🙄
