Isle of Man TT Circuit meet :)

Right people im curious im also a mk4 supra owner and there is 6 mk4 supras on the island... I live in the isle of man and to be fare it is a nice place, lots of roads with no legal speed limit etc. Most people should have heard of the isle of man thanks to the manx TT races home of the worlds longest and most dangerous road race for motorbikes. Anyway due to curiosity I was wondering if people would like to come to the isle of man for like a long weekend and organise a huge cruise to which I could probably manage a full lap of the tt course. Theres plenty places to stay and things to do a gorgeous places to drive and go. Would be really cool to see hundreds of amazing supras on the island for a nice meet. Let me know to see if it is possible :)

any questions anyone has please don't hesitate at all to ask me as I can always find out the answer if I don't know it off the top of my head...

I am more than willing to put as much time and effort into organising this as possible with a little bit of help from some friends who have tried to help me with this on facebook ( you all know who you are guys thanks ) all I really need from people is what you would like to happen, what dates you would all find most suitable and doable, and just discuss as a group these dates as it has to suit the majority :).. I will find out all the prices regarding boat fares and see if it is possible to manage the isle of man steam packet to sort out a slightly cheaper deal, also for them to help with loading cars onto the boat (I am fully aware of peoples concerns with getting extremely low vehicles onto it lol.. I have personally managed it with my supra and im running a full veilside kit and lowered lol...) I will also try to get a fantastic deal on accommodation as I do know some people who own holiday homes plus things like bed and breakfasts but I need numbers for this... I have a perfect location in mind as it is a 2 minute drive from the main bit of douglas town centre, it is also on a private beach of its own with a good sized parking area.. could fit easily probably 50+ cars... and with it being out of the way people can stay up late have a bbq and socialise without interuptions from locals...

so I was thinkin a parade lap of the manx TT course plus people having lots of fun up the mountain section as there is a lot of areas of the isle of man where there is no national speed limit at all.. so yes on the mountain you can overtake the police at 160mph and not be prosecuted for it lol.. just don't be stupid enough to kill yourselves lol.. whatever input can have please come to me with it as I would like this to be the best thing I can make of it.. from parade laps of the course to beach bbq's and anything else we can all come up with

thanks very much

I am allan, yes I am a farely new member to this site but I am a true supra enthusiast at heart and would love for this to happen so people can get to enjoy what I have every day of the year :)

Hi Allan, glad to see you got a thread started after seeing your post on Facebook.

You seem to have good enthusiasm about getting this off the ground. I hope this happens as I think it would be a great trip. Not sure how easy the planing will be but plenty of other clubs visit the island and keep going back so hopefully it gets good interest.

thanks very much Marcus gte... that was one of the reasons I got thinkin about it, we get Porsche meets, caterham, lotus... all sorts you name it and they come back every year.

I know its defo a lot of planning but I do think it will be worth it as it could be put in the diary for every year if it takes of well :D

but like u said I am very enthusiastic about getting this going. so I will do everything that I can to get it to work.. there has been a lot of people say to me soo far that they are defo up for it. so I just need to get the dates that people would like and be suitable for everyone. I will also get posted up all the prices that I can source to help everyone as much as I can. apart from that I would just like some ideas from people to what they would like to see and to happen... I have already had the go ahead from a full drift team to come over plus a few high rollers ;) big power junkies coming hehe lol.. so it will be worth it.... I hope :)

Hi Allan a very good idea, i would love to go over to the Isle of Man .....the restrictions you would have are i cant see "hundreds" of supra,s going over, reasons being the ferry crossing will put alot of people off to be honest, the ground clearence of the cars and the cost, probably the max number wise would be around 10 - 15 cars

Great idea tho :D

Cheers

I was on the Isle this year for the TT. Fantastic place and gave my bike a good blast a few times over the mountain. I would be up for this if it was organised depending on dates and ferry prices etc. Unsure about clearance for the ferry but my cars been on the Belfast boat from Cairnryan so should be ok. Good idea none the less.

hi people don't worry to much about the clearance issues for the boat as I have had my supra on the boat from heysham with literally no issues at all.. I have full veilside kit and sitting pretty damn low lol.. I only needed assistance from the gentleman just to make sure bumper didn't touch and I drove straight on.. they do have ways and means of getting mega low cars on.. my mates skyline can barely get 3fingers at most under his bumper and rest of vehicle and he still gets on and off... it will be easy to be able to get around 30-50 on the boat to be honest mate.. even more if people are all willing to come :D... as for dates once more people view this post and want to come.. I will listen to everyones input for dates so that we can arrange the most suitable time.. even if it means start of next year or whatever the case may be... its an awesome place and defo worth doing the meet here.. I defo understand that cost will be a big factor hense the more I think about it... the more im lookin at this event being a bit further away than likes of 2 months time haha that way people can manage to save up and be able to do everything u all want to do... I am going to approach the steam packet company and see if it is possible to arrange some sort of deal with steam packet even if it means... I get paid for everyone who is going to come then go down to the steam packet with all the details and book the tickets myself then send them to everyone who is coming.. that way they are all booked at once and may be able to get the ferry even cheaper... accommodation I should also be able to arrange and make much cheaper due to knowing some people with bed and breakfasts and also holiday homes etc... beautifull little places.. the ones I am looking at for everyone is 2 mins from my own home and is pretty much on a beach.. its all holiday homes and im sure people wouldn't mind sharing to keep the costs all down.. but u would be able to get atleast 50 cars down the place im lookin at with no hassles.. that way things like bbq's could even be done near accommodation so people can all have a drink and enjoy :D

When the time comes to check for ferry prices fire me a pm bud, i worked security part time at the Belfast dock for the steam packet co so i know them and may be able to get a better discount. The boat doesn't run winter months, usually the first sailing is Easter and the last is late September, from Belfast anyway.

I have spoke to a gentleman I know whos wife owns a lot of holiday homes in a very lovely location for everyone and sounds like I may be able to get it cheap.. but I do need to know how many people are looking to come over... the steampacket Is the one bit that is just well... going to be hard to try and get costs down on lol. but please come forward show your face and let me know who all wants to come over to the isle of man for hopefully what will be an amazin meet... bbq with friends, enthusiasts and other supra owners... also parade lap of the course and im going to see if I can manage to have the mountain course closed to 1 way traffic for one afternoon.. if it is possible :p amongst trying to arrange other things aswell :D

i would like the people interested to help with dates... once I have dates I can get prices then :D ... I don't want to say a date as not everyone will be able to manage it.. so I feel if the memebers come up with the date as a group discussion then its more likely to suit everyone or atleast majority.. then that way I can give my friend the dates for accommodation and sort that out for a good price as they have already said numbers wont be an issue they would just like dates to be able to give me an idea of price... a rough number would help aswell to sort for cheaper accommodation and then I can approach the isle of man steam packet with a date and rough figure of cars and see if there is any way possible of getting the ferry for a reasonable price.. also how long would people like to come for... would it be a long weekend.. say a Friday to Monday kind of thing??? im also thinkin as for the ferry costs with me approaching them maybe if I was to pay all tickets to them direct from me then maybe they could do a discount, if they would be happy doing that then I would have to take payment from all members interested in coming... I would need all details name address car etc etc... then I can get everyones tickets sent to them all... :D
