Hi Guys,

I finally received the new seats and i've slacked putting up pics on here as i was hoping to get some proper picture first. But i can always do that later. This thread was always a little log what i can look back on later.

So i saw this rear view mirror on youtube i was getting rave reviews everywhere so i decided to give it a try.

I had to remove the rear mirror mount completely as none of the adapters which were supplied would fit, Im happy with the outcome though. The mirror has a Front and Rear dash cam aswell as functioning as a mirror (duh) and has other functions like GPS speedo, direction etc.

I also fitted some new Door "condoms" as the old ones were ripped and messy. You can also see the only parts of the car what are red still!

So i cracked on with fitting the seats. They are still so heavy even after the retrimmer took out the airbags etc which are not required.

I had my handbrake retrimmed. I just need to get the gear lever sorted (i have a gaiter ready just need to decide which way to go)

Seats from the rear with my seat delete

And headlining which flows from rear to front

I fitted my carbon skinned door controls also along with the retrimmed arm rests

seat2.thumb.jpg.3e684d6fb364d951a680d84fff800993.jpg

I had some new seat belts re-webbed onto the supra mechnisms (i had to change the buckles to suit the new seats)

Looks epic mate, love it.

With the mirror, is speed pretty accurate and in MPH? If so, can you post a link to it for me please? :)

So what’s next? ;)

It's a GPS speed it seems pretty accurate to my phone which shows the same speed.

This is the model although they are out atm i think it's available on ebay etc.

Next? who knows lol

Looks lovely mate. I was a bit dubious about the seats and the red but it looks great and really looks smart against the matalic grey exterior, great choice.

Cheers, hopefully when i get the DSLR out it will show the colour more accurately the iPhone has made it slightly brighter than it is.

Considered the mirror too. It does look ace. Finishes off the more modern interior.

Nicest seen for long time.

Cheers Noz.

When i had the interior done the trimmer made me a matching gear gator.

I never knew how to finish this area of the interior. Do i use a Manual panel or a auto panel, do i trim the OEM knob or replace it?

So i tried a few things.

I tried first the Auto panel with the gator:

I didnt mind this, perhaps with a replacement gearknob it might look better...

So i tried the manual panel, this needed some prep and i also found the matching panel ring i've had in my parts bin for years.

The ring which attaches the gaitor was missing so i 3D printed a replacement

I wasn't happy with the fit of the gearknob i bought, it was moving around all over the place so i custom designed a sleeve/threaded part for the gear knob, this allows the gear knob to move up and down whilst keeping it central on the shaft.

Im happy with the result, im going to redesign the sleeve to include a collar for the gator to wrap around at the top to stop it sliding down.

What do you think? stick with the manual panel or use the Auto one with the gator and carbon knob?

Cheers.

How did you get such a food finish on the 3D printed ring.

I have a 3D scan of the auto surround plastic. Perhaps we could join forces and produce a surround for the auto shifter for those who dont want to change their plastic.

I'm in awe of your dash. It's so nice!

The 3D printed ring was to hold the gator underneath. The ring on the top is a Brushed Ali one from Ebay. Sorry if it appeared otherwise :(

Looks great Ric, does it select all gears without touching the panel? Id consider this now after seeing yours, for me id remove the oval base, retain the oem shifter, fit a manual panel and gaiter. Kinda excited to see that

I would. I have a brand new oem auto shifter but the design is really old now. As much as i don't care about having an auto. The shifter really is 90's One of the main reasons other than the gaitor was to fit a more modern knob.

It goes into all gears as i said above but it's close getting into L. But i never use the gearbox like that anyway.

I have to say that I much prefer the 90s auto shifter. It fits in with the cockpit design of the Supra and is contemporaneous with its overall design.

The other setup does make it look like you're trying to hide the fact that it's an auto.

Embrace the 90s cool and keep the OEM shifter.
