Shane
Many years ago I had a Magnum 2300 and after a good thrash the exhaust manifold on that used to glow cherry red, and also a 4.2 xj6 and that was the same although not as red as the magnum. Chris Wilson
You are showing your age again John, 75% on here have never heard of one I agree though, pretty car, light and torquey. Tappet adjustment was very clever.

Tappet adjustment was very clever. That same engine was used in loads of cars over the years in various stages of tune. I even had a Bedford cf van with the same block. I seem to remember that lotus version used them as well but with a twin cam top end., but might have dreamt that.

The VX4-90 used it, as you say, CF vans, Lotus used it in the Eclat I think, Jensen Healey used it too The wedge shaped HP Firenza and Magnum were nice looking little cars. I can't remember when I last saw one outside a magazine though
