Dave_SZ-R Posted March 29, 2010 Share Posted March 29, 2010 Hi all, As per the title, selling what was once my occasional track car but has become my daily driver since selling the Supra. Its a 1999 model in black with 147k miles on the clock, and is absolutley indestructible! We spent a day at Crail raceway late last year in this driving all day with only very short breaks in between and it never missed a beat (passing afew S1 Elises too). Cosmetically its a bit tatty, afew dents and scratches and the odd spot of rust (only front wings and bonnet though). Mechanically its solid, the only issue Id like to address would be that the idle control valve seized, so weve drillied a small hole in it to allow air in. The car runs very smoothly as it is with a nice even idle, but going forward its something that should be replaced. I suspect the car may also require an ABS sensor as the light occasionally comes on for afew seconds, although the MOT station couldnt find any faults in the braking system at all. Only very minor advisories on MOT (expires March 26th 2011!): -Nearside front suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement -Exhaust rear box has part of system slightly deteriorated -Bottom steering column bush worn All four tyres and brakes are excellent with tons of life left. I really cant emphasise how wonderful a little car this has been, I dont think I could break it if I tried! It has the VW ABF engine from the Golf GTi, which gives 155bhp and great mpg. Also has the 16 inch Cupra alloys (sprayed black) and Cupra interior, although Ive removed the rear seats but still have them. I dont mind because its just a little workhorse for me now, but if it was going to be someones 'main' car youd want to replace the front wings and bonnet as they have some rust. I get a bit panicky if I go further than that, what with the strange accents and all! lol - thats very kind of you mate but i live 10 mins from Brighton so even the Midlands is a trek ...... again ... the accents dont tend to make much sense past Barnet!!
