Useless Thread Titles

Off topic is to discuss anything you want = correct. However, thread titles bear a real importance as to its contents. Thread titles such as "Meh", "Bah" or "BRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" are most likely to be considered spam. Perhaps something such as "Meh, why are my pants on fire" or "Bah, I can't find the boot release" would further improve the overall qualify of thread titles.

All IMHO only ofc :D

Quote from 1st post.

I've noticed an increase in the number of useless thread titles being used. Things like "Lefty", "Urgent Help" and "What about" give people no clue as to what the thread is about and really annoys the tits of me! I've been changing them myself recently but I'm changing tactics now. If you create a thread with a useless* title then don't be surprised if it just gets deleted - you have been warned!

And on that bombshell, good night. :)

*useless is defined as any title that does not, in the opinion of myself or another moderator, accurately describe the contents of the thread. Our decision will be final and will always be right, even when wrong.

It's a pain when people have super-vague thread titles, such as "please help". Help with what? I can help with some IT issues, a small number of car-related issues including the supra's code 42 error, may be a bit of photography. I can also give advice on domestic plumbing (only the very basics though), choosing a bicycle, pointing brickwork at a real push, and procrastination. I'm not much help on mixing concrete, fitting Surrey flanges, most things to do with turbo engines, cross-stitching, or where to find class A substances on a Saturday night.

:)

It's much better if whoever is writing the thread, gives it a meaningful title. That way I'm more likely to help if it's about code 42, and less likely to offer help if it's a domestic flange-related issue.

Can you introduce a 3-4 word minimum for thread titles maybe? It'd help with inane ones... apart from in OT? :)

Maybe we should introduce the Supraforums method.... poor thread title or even (in Geo's case) posting in the wrong section just gets rude, stupid comments posted in it.

I've just started using the Report Post button when I see a pointless thread title now. Gotta make the mods earn their yacht time somehow!

And can I just say Monaco is delightful this time of year. Thank you one and all.
