Toms Supra
How much power increase would you expect when using "proper" racing fuel some mags quoted cars for example with 700bhp (RC Evo) up the boost and use race fuel = 900bhp?! eh?!! surely thats a bit optimistic
Keith C
Fuel itself won't make any difference. What it does allow is running more boost/advance/blah
Guest Usmann A
RACE fuel is less prone to knock/det due to its molecualr structure(best fuels are toloul, its ring shaped structure, also called aromatic fuels),it allows the use of higher boost, and ignition timing, its use of hydrocarbons and strongly pakced molecular bonds need more heat to ignite and to rip up the bonds within it, thus the source of heat from the initial start of the flame is ued to do this rather than just heat up, and cause a pressure increace in the chamber. Thus it slows down combustion rate slightly, thus why we can advance Ign timing to suit, it is a Anti Knock device, which to us means, up the boost for more power! HTH edit, what happens on system such as the 2J, are that once the motor can see the knock sensor voltage is not spiking, etc, it will dial in more ign adv, thus more power again.
