spartan
Saw these on eBay: NEW Sard 540cc Injectors x6 1JZGTE 2JZGTE JZA80 JZS161 These appear to be high impedance versions (so no mucking about with resistors when fitting to J-spec cars?) but would any benefit be realised on a stock/BPU car? Nic
You would also need some way of controlling them eg. emanage. Unless you have hybrid turbos fitted, then there isn't any need for bigger injectors. The stock 440cc injectors should be able to cope at BPU power levels.
spartan
Thanks for that Nic. I saw this article Injector Upgrades and guessed (incorrectly!) that maybe you could just swap them without any mapping required (the ECU would 'learn' about them and adjust fuelling accordingly?). Out of interest then why were UK cars fitted with 550cc injectors as standard (given that the true power of the UK car isn't that much different from JDM) - does anyone know? Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere.
Chris Wilson
A very good question, I don't know why, but have often wondered.
dangerous brain
I wouldn't go as far as saying that hybrids would be the only reason for upping the injector size to 540cc. My car on stock tubbies was putting enough power out to start running lean by 1.1 bar and certainly have benefitted from 540's. Would long term have been a tad safer as well. You will of course need to control them as at lower revs you'd be running way too rich.
