  1. If your revs are going up and down, something is pulsing air into the intake. It's either the throttle butterfly or the idle control valve. I've had this issue with Simons supra. The car was reving from 700-1500 rpm regimently. It turned out there was a short, or a few shorts in the loom going through the bulkhead to the ECU on the idle control circuit which made the idle control valve pulse. The problem your having is most certainly an electrical issue. Probably caused by pulling the loom around whilst things have been added etc. If it were me, I'd pull the loom out and check for damage. It's only an hours work or so to remove it. Heatshrink any bare wiring and repair anything that looks suspicious. I'm just up the road if you get stuck.
  2. I won't be there this week. I'm running up and down hills to get fitter.
  3. I'm in Marc. Let me know how you want paying.
  4. Think there was 5 or 6 supras this week. The only come out on nice days because the melt in the rain, everyone knows that. They were dubbed the wicked with of the west cars back in the day.
  5. I may be there. Depends on what time I finish training.
  6. Simons car won't be finished by September lol.
  7. I wouldn't bother upgrading them. Your cars not fast enough to warrant it.
  8. Back off you 2. Just moved with the times that's all. I'm still dicking about with everyone else's supra so don't worry about that. I can make yours go fast Matt, no problem at all. I could also make yours work properly Andrew. Did I mention my Datson works fine and it goes fast
  9. Valve stems resealable themselves when they get hot unless there totally mushed. Turbo seals will mostly leak oil when you let off the throttle after a boost pull. You'll get a puff of blue smoke from the exhaust. Or if there totally gone it will smoke all the time, even on idle.
  10. I agree, but the resistor pack will need removing also. If not you could get a bang.
  11. If you've got fuel coming through then either your timing is a mile off or there's a mismatch between cam and crank angles. Have you done a diagnostic?
  12. Cam sensors are the same. They only have a rubber O-ring on and no spacer. Have you checked to see if you have fuel coming through?
  13. We've booked into the hilton up the road. Plenty of places to eat and drink so were onto a winner.
  14. That's awesome. You stopping in the hilton with us James?
  15. Saturday afternoon after Paula's race. Will be on out way before 4pm for sure. Any of you supra losers want ruined by Grimlock on the way up lmao.
  16. What's the beef with accommodation lads. It's a canny drive us so want somewhere to kip Saturday night. Somewhere with nice bait and maybe cocktails for me n Bossco.
  17. Sorted the accommodation for SMS yet. If we don't get booked up the prices will go up and maybe won't get a room.

  21. Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Phil is a great bloke, I know it's going to be wrapped up in cotton wool every night. I'm also sure that it will be driven hard too. Phil is no stranger to speed, although he was a little shocked when I took him out in it. I said this on a few occasions, the car was never going to be broken for parts. I'd rather have kept it. It holds too much sentimental value for me to just pull it apart. Almost cost me my marriage twice, and that's no joke. I won't say I'll never have another supra, so who knows what the future will bring. I still enjoy working on them too, and if I'm honest I love everything about the look of them but it was just time to move on I feel. I'm sure if there's any further mods to the car, Phil will keep the thread going. Best of luck with it mate, I hope it borings you hours of fun and excitement as it did me.
  22. Yep, the car is sold. As Kaan says, it's getting collected on Monday. Great guy, and I'm sure it will be really looked after. He's very much like myself, but not as good looking lol. Sorry Phil, couldn't resist haha.
