mk4 supra asbestos content?

Hello all,

been stripping the underside of my car over the weekend, including wire wheeling all the seam sealer out the arches to ensure its still all solid. (1994 Jap import)

I've been chatting to a colleague this morning and he did point out asbestos was used in sealants and stuff around that era. I have found a news post from 2005 saying that Toyota was still using asbestos in their products up until then.

I was using a pp3 rated mask MOST of the time, so I'm not too concerned about long-term exposure and I am fully aware of the health implications with asbestos. I didn't read anywhere about asbestos content in these cars, so I just thought id check before continuing what I'm doing.

Has anyone got any data sheets for the sealant used in the wheel wells? Any of the factory underseal?

Cheers!

Nathan.
