2jz-ge air idle control valve

Idle is sometimes high. Bonking on the IACV with the handle of a screwdriver takes the idle back down to normal so I've assumed it's sticking in some way. I've taken it to bits and cleaned it and it's better than it was but not perfect.

Sometimes the idle is too low as well which is probably something else but I feel like the IACV is a good place to start. Any other suggestions I'm all ears :)

Sticky throttle body butterfly valve?

Are you auto? If you are and are getting funny gear changes...could be the ecu like many na auto owners are getting recently? I personally am getting tired of supra ownership lol

Mine's a manual. The butterfly seems OK to me, I was playing with it yesterday morning since I had the intake piping off to clean my O2 sensors.

I'm half suspecting the ECU for another issue mine's having*, which is a singular intermittent complete power cut when starting a journey, but haven't got around to taking that out yet. I'll have a peep at the state of the capacitors at the weekend if it's not raining.

*as described here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?353578-Intermittent-power-cutting-on-NA
