Boost controller question

Been having a few issues with the supe lately (erratic idle and poor acceleration especially when cold) I have a hks evc 5 boost controller and the local garage who specialise in tuning jdm cars(south coast workshop, Emsworth) the owner seems confused that the boost controller is only connected to the first turbo , as SRD installed it a couple of years ago and had been running fine so I know it is correct but would like an answer why so I can explain to him.

Thanks

Cant speak for the HKS, but they could be wrong if they are looking for a separate pipe to both turbo's directly.

The Blitz BC could explain the general setup:

"The wastegate VSV that we connect on the top to Out line of the Dsbc......... controls the pressure of the 2 turbos...."

Disconnect and remove the hose from the

bottom of the

brass wastegate actuator, then cap (3 in fig. 6).

fig. 6

Disconnect the hose that runs from the left side of the

wastegate VSV (1 in fig 6) up to the metal tube, then cap (1 in fig. 7).

fig. 7

Disconnect the hose from the top of the wastegate

actuator (not shown, but the actuator is shown in fig. 6). The other end of this hose goes

to the #1 turbo pressure outlet – remove this hose.Mount the solenoid near the passenger-side shock tower with

tie-wraps (fig. 7).Connect one of the supplied 1/4″ diameter hoses from the

turbo pressure outlet on the #1 turbo to the IN side of the solenoid valve unit (not

shown).Connect the other supplied 1/4″ hose from the OUT side of the solenoid valve unit to

the top of the wastegate actuator (not shown).

Thankyou for the reply, just as I thought no way SRD would get it wrong.

I think you will find its to do with the first turbo actually having a waste gate where as the second turbo has an exhaust bypass valve... My greddy is connected to the first turbo, and seems to work fine. The greddy instructions for the Supra specifically mention to connect to the first turbo.
