Follows the FT1 rear lights, expected a curved wing. Long live the MKIV that cant even be beaten by its successor

I wonder if theyre going to surprise us all by showing us a production ready road car along side a race variant. The development car/s are too far along for it to be just a concept now.

Saw this on Facebook and i have to say I'm excited. This is the only new car I've actually been excited to see.

Anyone else thinking of going to see this?

This makes sense from the silhouette as the uprights to the wing go down past the line of the boot.

Either way 6th of March can't come soon enough

Thankfully the teaser pic indicates what ive thought all along; the disguise panels made the test cars look much more ungainly than the finished product will be. Looks like it will have some very curvy rear haunches

I hope the back comes out looking a lot more FT-1 than those test cars seem to show. In fact, if the whole thing comes out looking like an FT-1, I'd be quite happy. I'd also be quite happy if they have a stupid version with the twin turbo v8 that's going into the LC-F

I've been checking in to the forum every now and then for updates on the MkV.
Looks like its finally going to happen.

I'm interested in the final specs for the UK market.
Looks like there will possibly be 3 models to choose from,
1st option (hairdresser model) looks like its a 240bhp 4-pot 2L single-turbo at around £40k (silly price for a 4-cylinder engine) - auto box only.
2nd option looks like its a 335bhp 6-pot inline twin turbo at around £55k - auto first then manual box version later arriving.
3rd option -very sketchy at the moment (supposedly the flagship model - but doesn't make sense to me) - may be a Lexus 450bhp V6 hybrid at around £65k - auto only.

Can't find any info on the differential, but I am guessing it will be a silly electronic lock effort rather than a proper mechanical LSD. And likely open diff on the hairdresser version.

(sources : from various websites on google search)
    -saving up for something special
    -MKiv TwinTurbo UK-spec 6-speed (400+bhp) - now sold
    -Lancer EVO6 RS2 (300bhp) - now sold

Cant see them developing a straight 6 and a v6 version myself. I would suspect an inline 4 and an inline 6, both shared (to some extent) with the z4.

I wouldnt discound a 4 cylinder hybrid, Volvo use these to very good effect.

If feel if anything, doesn’t matter how good or bad the new cars are received it will show exactly how on point they were with the MKIV
I sincerely hope that it sets new ground and doesn’t just “fit in”. Anyone remember the anticipated new NSX? I bet not! Still people would want the original..
Either way the MKIV will benefit from a good or bad car and should push residuals even stronger....
