Well here it is, in its 4th year running now, the annual Applecross trip in the Scottish Highlands!

This years event will take place from Friday 25th August - Sunday 27th August and will be limited to 17 cars only.

This ties in with the England, Wales & N.Ireland bank holiday for those wishing to travel back down on the Monday.

Exact details are yet to be confirmed, but it will be an 0800 start on the Friday morning at Soar Breahead in Glasgow (the old X-Scape) just off the M8 (junction 26).

From great roads, excellent sights, dolphin sightseeing, boat trips, outdoor rockpool swimming, great food and drink and awesome banter, this trip covers it all!

Please can all interested stick your name down (if you're bringing a +1 please add this information as well) and I shall add it to the post below and I will update with prices and planned events within the next few weeks.

UPDATE and PRICING

So this year there has been a few changes to itinerary from previous years.

We were looking to get the ferry across on the Friday instead of the Sunday but due to seasonal tidal limitations that is no longer an option.

The trip will begin at SOAR Braehead in Glasgow at 0800 on Friday 25th August and will see us drive some of Scotlands best roads as we convoy North to the Isle of Skye.

Our Accommodation for the weekend is the Skyewalker Hostel in Portnalong where there is a varied selection of rooms to choose from (prices and booking info coming this week!)

On both the Friday and Saturday evenings we are dining in the Taigh Aileen hotel just around the corner from where we are staying, and those who were on last years trip I'm sure will vouch just how good the food is and what a laugh we had! (Menu will be uploaded as soon as I receive it, but the Fudge Cake is highly recommended):

Saturday morning will begin with rolls and bacon and sausage (not sausage rolls...lets not get into this again lol) followed by a drive around the Isle of Skye taking in sights such as The Quiraing, the Kilt Rock and The Old Man of Storr which will lead us round to the main town on the island, Portree, where we will have lunch at our afternoon activity... Clay Pigeon shooting and Axe Throwing!

Sunday will again start with breakfast, followed by another drive and some sightseeing (still to be confirmed) before leaving the island by ferry and heading back down towards Glasgow and stopping off at a few interesting places along the way!

All info will be updated as and when available with prices being listed by the end of this week!

Thanks again

Interested list updated.

I've been in talks with a few companies 'up north' in the last few days and once I've had the chance to sit down with 'the boss' (he's a hard taskmaster to please) ;) we'll be able to release full trip details and pricing.

Can't see it being too far off last years but Brexit and all that you know so.... lol

Another bump for this trip seeing as it's the weekend.

More work being done over the weekend to confirm trip itinerary and final costings (will be similar to previous years for those who've been before) and as soon as we have all the info I'll stick an update up.

Final deadlines for conformation of attendees will provisionally be end of March and looking to have all payments in by May.

As always, any questions, just ask.
