Nice, like that. You're going the full way with new parts.

Check the rear quater glasses are not out of shape, I remember badly saying that he's sent back a fair few when doing full respray as they have been out of shape.

Hmm, they both look OK. I've opened the one in the box and I didn't notice any obvious deformation. The other is securely wrapped and the overall shape appears correct.

Any idea as to how warped the others were?

Wow! Mr T must love you..

That's one lucky car getting all those brand new parts

Are you fitting them as you get them each time or are you collecting them to fit all together?

I'm just collecting at the moment. I'm slowly stripping the car. As I strip it I'm refurbishing or replacing the perished parts ready for the eventual rebuild.

I've been surprised by the parts I'm needing to replace, like the fuel tank guard. Mine had a dent in it which prevented it from being shot blast and powder coated back to a condition I would be happy with.

I've bought new bulbs for the whole dash as all of mine are faded, or the green covers have gone tough and stuck to the bulb itself.

I've got another list of parts on the go for the sub-frame mounts and a few more engine bay bits.

    Still looking for:

All towing eyes from TT model.
UK Spec heated wingmirrors. I have new glass, I just need the internal workings.
Heated seat switch. Going to retrofit heated seats.

I'm quite enjoying the thing. I've not set silly timescales. I think the project will take a mother few years to complete.

The car shell will only go away for soda blasting and paint right at the end. I'm undecided what colour the car will be. I'm torn between keeping it the factory colour or going for something totally different.

UK models had push folds with heated elements, and powerfolds had normal glass. Unless you just want the oem clips/wiring from the UK mirrors? will be easier to retrofit the heated elements to your facelift supra, wire through the doors to the rear demister with a relay. To do it properly youll want door looms and all sorts of nonsense.

Im buliding up new parts like you, just need a windscreen and i got all the bits i need, love having a collection, dont know what ill do when they are all on the car

I didn't realise the UK wing mirrors didn't power fold!

I will just have to come up with an alternative solution as you say.

Yep I love having loads of shines new parts it's almost a shame to fit them knowing they will slowly perish.

    77641-141001 was 225.34 plus vat

Not cheap! If you can find a cheap 2nd hand cover thats just rusted I'm sure blasting and powder coating would be cheaper.

Really interesting thread this one. Thanks for posting. I've been looking at my car today wishing I could replace some of the worm bits with new ones. I never thought to actually ask Toyota for new ones!

I can confirm the UK specs do indeed have manual push fold in mirrors! Damn it.

Do you just ring your local Toyota garage ? I need to look into getting a power steering seal/gasket kit and probably a replacement hose too.
