AlexM
I'm moving to a smaller battery in my car, and I want to get rid of the alarm as it's quite a drain. Does anyone have an insurance policy that doesn't require an alarm, and allows for modifications? Who do you use? TIA.
Scott
Admiral. Although I do have an alarm, it's not a requirement
DSK
Sorry to not provide a positive answer, but, in general if you have a tasty car, insurers tend to require alarm/immobiliser uinits. I guess it will be a case of simply phoning around and asking or use Gocompare.co.uk and enter the insurance section, put your car in without any security and see what companies quote. AlexM
Admiral. Although I do have an alarm, it's not a requirement Nice, thanks. Just gave them a go online (via confused.com) and quoted £710 fully comp - reasonable. ... That would be the thoughtline behind posting the thread, I don't expect many insurers will want to know if the car doesn't have an alarm. This is for my track car by the way, not my daily. Scooter
why not just keep the alarm but don't always remember to arm it? or does the immobiliser part of the alarm cause a drain too (genuinely don't know)?
Lbm
For 9 years I've just have an immobiliser and tracker. No alarm. No problem for any of the insurers. I was with Sky last year and Adrian Flux this year.
