    Pushrod suspension design..

I've been looking through various designs and doing some calculations with regards the front suspension for the tadpole.

I've came across pushrod suspension design which I believe was fairly common in 70's and 80's in F1 design. Obviously the newer stuff is fairly hard to get hold of, and I'm going through my notes, but the pushrod system looks interesting as it will allow placement of things to be bit easier.

Anybody have any experience with pushrod design I can bound some ideas off?

I work with push and pullrod suspension a lot, what do you want to know? Some of the leverage forces can be VERY high, you have to be careful if you are using fulcrums. Bear in mind it is usually used for aerodynamic reasons on single seaters, rather tham any "trick" reason, although motion ratios are easy to alter.

I'm just trying to work out a suspension system for the front of the tadpole trike... given that you have just said it is usually used for aeros and forces (Don't fancy a weld snapping) I might have a look at an alternative.

    Cheers for that.

This is the rear pushrod suspension on my Zeus, I should have lots of pics at ftp://ftp.chriswislon.tv in Zeus named folders if you want more.
