  1. hi everyone, i'm only ever on here when i have a problem and as this is indeed the fountain of experts then please urgently step forward if you can help. I am a girl and in stereotypical girl manner (no offence to other female supra owners) I havent a clue why the following has happened: despite changing a fuse yesterday due to ALL dials suddenly stopping, last night driving home (a bit fast admittedly), the SPEEDOMETER DIAL dropped to zero and the (!) light in the red triangle (sorry not had coffee yet today so even more stupid than usual) came on AND a further yellow/amber light that is on the far right side that of dashboard ie right of steering wheel (its sort (alternator/ battery????) . The car seems to be driving OK but i am worried because i need to drive this morning. the fuse i changed yesterday seemed to fix everything but now instead of the problem being all the dials its just the speedometer .... HELP!! I dont want my car stopping in the middle of the motorway! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS Suzie
  2. thanks for suggestions. Not sure i am capable with the Halfords idea but may be worth a go!
  3. hi - I urgently need to get the cable for the driver side window as it is f***ed - sorry but I hate not winding my window down. it is temporarily bolted closed with a bit of wood. I think that the motor is ok but the cable was completely messed up- was rubbish when i got it originally. SO PLEASE where can i buy a cable and if i have to, a new motor, for the driver side window of my lovely Jap spec Supra (1993) . really appreciate urgent replies! cheers
  4. which is the warning light compared to level?? the exclamation mark came on at the same time as the little oil can symbol? I am such a girl!!! i will check reply when i come back from Halfords!!
  5. so you reckon that as long as put in a 5w50 then it should be ok. What if i put in 5w40 with 5w50?
  6. hi - yes its pretty much minimum. The warning light came on randomly when i drove up on Friday then hasnt come on but the oil really is almost minimum. what do you reckon about mixing oil if i have to?
  7. Please can someone give me some urgent advice. Right now I am near Carlisle and I have over 300 miles to drive back to Hertfordshire. My dilemma is that I have a bit of oil left but not enough. The current oil is Valvolene VR1 Racing 5w50 but as I originally got this when i was at JPS, I know that Halfords dont have it as i had a quick look yesterday. Carlisle is barren of anything except Halfords on a Sunday i think ! SO please please can someone urgent suggest what oil can be safely mixed eg Mobil 5w40 etc??? I have to set off this afternoon! my car is Supra Jap import JZ-GTE. Twin Turbo with lots of mods and just under 400bhp. look forward to replies from any early risers on a Sunday!
  8. Sorry I missed you all but as I thought Brighton's Honey Club got the better of me - had a great drive down there on Saturday night (about midnight if anyone spotted me with neons on )then more sheepishly drove back to Hertfordshire today feeling utterly crap and couldn't remember where you all meeting so hope to see you all at the next one. any pics from today's meet?
  9. I'm up for it especially after seeing pics etc of the last one - that's if I'm sober enough after major night out in Brighton
  10. Looked like a good turnout - sorry I missed it but both poorly Supe and poorly me - whichever idiot garage put the cambelt on before I became the lucky owner couldn't even put the cambelt on right - nearly caused the engine to blow (and I've only just put in new rad and crankshaftpully!!!) - Leon (JPS) also discovered they wired up the boost controller and other mods in a very strange manner so just wanted to warn anyone else of dodgy garages (looking at receipts from previous owner seems it was Woodstock Service Station in East Grinstead - I'm certainly grateful to Leon who knows his stuff (his own Supe - when the engine is back in! - may well outrun anything else on the road!
  11. Yikes - induction air leak?!!! Sounds worrying - is it simple to sort out??? Can't be worse than when my bottom (hmm seem to have a lot of problems with that area!!) crank shaft pully broke making my radiator brake!!! and now this! I don't even have time to see Mark Kindell as I'm off to sunny France on business but may be when I'm back I'll call - anyone got his number? If it's the oil needing changing is there any specific oil type the lovely Supe auto J-spec TT need to keep them on top form?
  12. Any ideas as to why my J-spec TT engine could be racing like its high on something??? I noticed it just lately especially today after driving over to Bluewater and back to Hemel. Even after I switched it off and the auto boost timer was just counting down the engine seemed to be up and down like it was going to blow up!
  13. Not sure where Bracknell is but count me in ! Any directions from Hemel in Herts? 1. Supragal 2. Rob_B 3. leett 4. Trig (Ash's Bitch ) 5. #1 Adam 6. HISUPE (Fars Biatch ) 7. paul_y3k 8. Oxygene 9. JamesArup 10. Millhouse 11. Green Supra + 1 12. Amazing grace 13. Scooter 14. reno 15. Batgirl:D
  14. Glad to see some people are up for this - there is an event the weekend of the 28th August - European championships at Great Eccleston show. I've tried to attach an example pic but not done this before so don't know if its worked
