    Chrono Po*n

That was over £2k I would have kept it but it came in a 39mm case and lacked the wow factor for me. Looked better in pics than on my wrist and I flipped it fairly quickly. I've also got a Panerai Homage and also a Seiko SX007J sitting in my drawer as well.

    Chrono Po*n

I've become very interested in watches over the last couple of years. I sported a Breitling Aerospace for a while but I sold it in 2009. I also had a Dubois et Fils 1912 Chronographe 18ct white gold case with a Valjoux 7751 movement. However times have changed and spending too much money on a watch is a thing of the past. Recently I bought this. It was cheap and looks ok for the money. And then I bought this last week. It uses a Seiko VK63 quartz with a mechanical stepper attached for the chrono function (mecaquartz). I like it, it has good wrist presence, I love the pvd finish on the case and I'll post up some better pics if you're interested. My next one is something German, quite different and when I've got it I'll put some pics up. I don't want to tell what it is yet as they're on back order and I want to bag one first!
  3. I'm already there although the slope I'm at the bottom of may be different to yours.
  4. Nice car Rob, they have awesome road presence.
  5. They've been trying too hard for about the last 5 years.
  6. Sensible answer from wiki A boost gauge will measure pressure in either psi or bar; many also measure manifold vacuum pressure in inches of mercury (in. Hg) or mm of mercury (mm Hg).
  7. I have no doubt CJ that your car will end up as awesome as this one. You seem to have that touch. I have to admit that the diversity and knowledge base of this place has been one of the main things I have missed in my absence. I frequent PH mainly in the photography section and I like to lurk in the Lounge, but this place has always been a draw on me.
  8. It's the name of it. Wristwatches didn't start becoming the norm until the early 1900's and most were converted pocket watches.
  9. Seb hasn't been online since October last year. Anyway some pics added.
  10. It's a Dubois et Fils 1910 Chronographe model 38490. 38mm 18ct white gold case, with double hinged back. Valjoux 7751 28500vph movement. Crocodile Skin strap. Rosewood box and papers. Like new. I know I know, this thread is useless without pics but I haven't got round to uploading them yet.
  11. I have a rather nice watch to sell. Does anyone here (as there is a vast wealth of knowledge about all things) have any recommended or trusted outlets that I can sell my watch through? It's not a mainstream manufacturer, but it is an expensive Swiss made watch by a low output watch house with a value in excess of £5k. Any advice would be appreciated.
  12. Breaking my arm 18 odd years ago was bad. I went to an insecure premises went inside to investigate and got set upon by a male armed with a crowbar. Needless to say he got the jump on me and it was all I could do to defend myself by putting my arm in front of my face which he was aiming for. Two ops pins , plates and a bone graft later it's never been the same. The worst though was having a bi-lateral testicular biopsy in my early 20's . Done under a general anaestetic they made an incision in my scrotum and pulled both testicles out through the incision, did what they had to do, then stuffed them back in. The worst bit was waking in recovery with no pain relief so they could ascertain exactly how much pain I was in then injecting pethadin directly into my scrotum to ease the pain. Not good.
