  1. Hi, thank you for the reply. I will certainly try that tomorrow and bring it for a drive and see how it goes. I will keep this topic updated if I do find a solution just incase someone else happens to have a similar fault.
  2. Sorry I should of wrote VVTI typo error
  3. Hi, Just wondering if any one can give me some insight to a problem I’m having with regards to a check engine code 89. Car is a facelift VVTLI factory twin turbo 6 speed manual. I have owned the car a number of years with no problems apart from one little niggle. When the car was warmed up and it was shut off for say 15 minutes to 1 hour and it was started it would hesitate to idle until you gave it some throttle for maybe 5 seconds and then would be fine, outside of that window it would idle perfect. Drivability was always perfect no problems until last month I was on a trip when the car went into limp mode and gave the check engine light showing code 89. I was able to pull in on off the road so i disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and started it and the car drove fine for the rest of the trip with no problems and has driven fine on a few weekends spins out until today, I went down the road and same thing happened back again. With the the check engine light on the car will idle slightly higher say about 1000 but won’t rev stationary at all until you drive. When you go to move on you have to put your foot fully down on the throttle and it will pick up slowly, it will drive along at a reasonable rate so long as you keep the throttle nearly fully open but the minute you lift your foot it will jerk like you cut all the power until you put your foot fully back down. I have gone to toyota and the guys there are unsure where to start and have spoke to a few mechanics who are equally unsure and with parts on the higher end its hard to start just randomly swap things out. If anyone has had a similar experience I would be so grateful for your input Thanks Dave
  4. Hi Brian, my number 0876370231 Dave.
  5. Hi Brian, Only registered as a member on this site this afternoon, thought I would see if there was any other supra's around and I came across your post. I live in county Waterford and have a mk4 tt6 manual that i have owned for the past few years, I have left it mostly stock just with bpu upgrades done as it is my daily driver, am not sure if you have bought one since it was a few months ago but if you haven't manage to find one or got around to sitting in one just said I would let you know. would love to see the r35 as well, next on the wish list. Regards, Dave
