1993 Toyota Supra Aerotop NA Auto Black Jspec
marbleapple replied to Lil's topic in Supra Classifieds
Lovely looking car. I’m not in the market for one at the moment but if was then this is just up my street Black, top secret with red interior and facelift lights -
Just watched the YouTube link provided and can’t wait to get home to watch the whole episode. Sitting on a train to London it was a very funny feeling to see who many cares I recognise flying past Paddy in a lovely UK spec. Great work guys. Makes me wish I’d not sold mine. Each one of the 3 of them!

24 hour care usually means 24 hour medical care. The money is to pay for nurses, medical machinery etc. There is a defined math equation around life expectancy, multiplicands and the discount rate. There is usually a general damages award (often a lump sum) for the actual one off injury and then special damages which takes account of future care needs, loss or earnings etc. I suppose the thing I'm trying to say is that the figures might look huge but in reality they are calculated based on what the person 'needs' (not would like) and various experts on both sides of the table usually have to reach an agreement.
-
I imagine that the vast majority of the money is held by the Court of Protection and the parents won't have access to it. To be clear, the 'award' isn't an award/windfall. The child won't have it to spend. Its a sum awarded to cover the child's future care needs. The quantum is calculated by numerous independant care specialists who in turn will be challenged by the NHS' own experts. I don't know the background of the case but at £37m I can only assume that the needs of the poor child must be extreme indeed. 24 hour care; probably 2 carers, special adaptations to house, special care equipment etc. One does wonder whether I would want to live with such problems.

Absolutely gorgeous car. Good luck with the sale. I used to have the same alloys with blue bolts in my first supra. They suit your car much better.

I have a little bit of experience in this area. I’m struggling to see how a home contents policy would be designed to cover theft of a washing machine outside of a home. I suppose the definition of what the property is might actually pull it back into cover even though it’s on your drive. I note the £200 excess but you need to check if it’s an old for new policy. If so, you may well find they’d have paid you the £400 (price of a new one). If a customer told me their broken washing machine was stolen; can I get a new one, I’d probably suggesting my fraud guys look into it though! In terms of damage to the drive, I’m interested to know why they wouldn’t cover it. If the drive is part of your property and your property was damaged during a theft then (whilst the circumstances are odd) it might be covered. The claims handler will be a junior guy. I’d personally ring up again and speak to a supervisor. I’d also ask them to put any declinature in writing and once I have it I’d write a short letter making a formal complaint which senior people have to review. If they uphold the decision then I’d then send it straight to the FOS to ask them to review. With the sums being so low you may well find they pay something to make it go away. The comments around algorithms is based on the assumption that all insurance companies work the same way. They might not. Mine certainly doesn’t automatically increase be premium. Richard

Someone wanted the front pads but I wouldn't split. If he wants the fronts I'll see you the back. -
So is every other currency including regulated onces. Sadly it is what makes the world go round.
