  1. We had our first customer car dropped off the dealership yesterday...they'll be on the roads soon
  2. Sounds good! I'm down on Weds AM so I'm glad you had what sounds like a great experience.
  3. Heya, From the conference I attended I am lead to believe GR (quite right you are in Gazoo Racing) will be launching halo cars for most of our model range, not dissimilar to the AMG/M car divisions of the german brands. The Supra will, I imagine, be a separate stand-alone model and I do not personal believe it will be under the GR moniker. I'll keep everyone updated as and when we are!
  4. Hi mate, Yes (my general manager attended) and I was at a national Toyota Sales conference last night... The new Supra is confirmed and expected to hit our showrooms in 2019! There are no pictures (there was security on the door doing frisks and confiscating all phones, cameras etc etc). Unfortunately that's all we know, no idea what engine variants or anything. But it is concrete. There will be a rebirth!
  5. Signed up and will pop down in the Evo to have a nosey around if that's ok!
  6. I must have viewed this thread every day for the last few weeks haha. What a beaut. Bit of a curveball but how do you fancy an Evo 8 RS + cash? If it's something you'd consider I'll send you pics and more info, if not then I hope she finds another caring home!!
  7. Fair enough! Few things on the road are more satisfying to drive than a well sorted evo
  8. Heya peeps, Just thought I'd make anyone aware who might be interested that Porsche Colchester are hosting another cars & coffee morning in aid of Whizz-Kidz ( good charity that my branch also supports). I went to the last one and there was some serious machinery there; from prototype racers to a Porsche 918 (supplied by the host), to a McLaren F1, via Ferraris, Lambos and everything inbetween. It starts at 9am and runs until lunch time. Will be a fiver entry per car (I think foot-traffic goes free) which goes to charity and lets you park up and even nets you a free cuppa/coffee! The venue is their aftersales centre which is effectively behind the showroom as you come into Colchester, there is a picture on their facebook page which gives an idea. Well worth coming along if you're free as it was awesome last time around!
  9. Hi mate, It's easy to get carried away cost-wise on anything these days! Older Japanese cars in particular. The interior doesn't worry me at all as it would only be used during summer at weekends for shows and such. Working at a Toyota dealer will help me with getting and paying for parts so that's less of a worry to me in all honesty. Can I ask what made you make the decision to go from a Supra to an Evo?
  10. Heya peeps, Hope you're all keeping well? I'm at a little bit of an impasse and hope you'll might help me make my mind up... I have owned my Evo 8 RS for going on a year and a half now which (no joke) has been the most reliable car I've ever owned!! But I can't shake want I have for a lovely MKiV Supra. I've been looking at more and more recently, I would want a late model manual TT6, with view of going down the big-power single route (even better if I can find one with the upgrades ready to go). To make big power out of an Evo is an incredibly costly affair and for the extra required expenditure I could buy a well sorted Supra. The Evo is currently running 380hp which is nothing compared to what I would have the Supra running but still feels like such an event every time I get in the car and even more so when I put my foot down. It feels so capable and planted at all speeds and is very confidence inspiring. I anticipate a high-HP Supra to be a lot more lairy and obviously you have much less of a chance to actually use the power at your disposal. That being said I bet it still feels like an event and if anything brings considerably more drama and fear, which I love! I'll pre-face this by saying I've never driven any Supra (or ever been in a high-HP single) so I'm looking to advice from people who have owned, or currently do own, both vehicles and can lend me some advice from their experience as to how they might compare. I'm based in Essex/Suffolk so if there's anyone willing to take me out in theirs I'll happily provide a box of beers or a return ride in the Evo (incase anyone is considering going the other way!). Thanks in advance guys!
  11. I'll be there in the overflow, white evo 8 with some carbon
  12. Hi guys, As this is so local to me would anyone mind if I pop down and perhaps ask some of you about your cars? I've been considering making the leap for a while now and it would help me answer the question of whether to chop the Evo in in favour of a Supra or not (i'll leave the Evo in the overflow car park and have a walk around!) Would greatly appreciate anyone who can accommodate me and possibly let me have a look in/around a couple? Cheers!
