  1. Car is still playing up. Finally got the rocker cover gaskets delivered today. I double checked the resistance on the ignition leads all under 25 k ohms, removed the new spark plugs and gave them a clean again and replaced the gaskets. All bolts were torqued up correctly and double checked all hoses. Car started first time and i left it sitting for 10 mins before i took it a run. The run seemed to be going gran untill i put the foot down full throttle and the engine dropped down revs almost dying, i had to feather the accelerator gently to contine on. Engine seems to run as normal when taking it easy but as soon as its giving half or full throttle it trues to die out on me. Any ideas what i can check next or what my actual problem could be, any help would be great
  2. Rotor arm changed same time as distributor cap, had the cap off today and cleaned all contacts and rotor arm looks like new
  3. Still having misfire issues with the car, ive changed all spark plugs, checked all the ignition leads for spark and checked resistance on each one. Also checked injectors were working while i had the plugs out and all 6 are working. Any ideas what i should be checking next
  4. Mechanic took the car a run this morning reckons the car is misfiring due to either the plugs or leads. Ordered a set of plugs and in the mean time i checked the leads with a volt meter, all leads are working gran but i noticed plugs 6 5 and 4 were oily so i removed them to check the rest of the plug and the 3 were covered in oil, looks like ive a seal or gasket away, any ideas what it could be so i can get the part or parts ordered
  5. Fluid level seems spot on, done the procedure as stated on the manual, changed through all gears in normal and manual mode with o/d and level is as it should be. Car booked in with mechanic in the morning so hoping he has better luck than i did
  6. Only got the car in june last year, got a full service done straight away, new plugs leads distributor cap, oil change, filters changed and new timing belt. I had previous starting issues before cold start and warm start but that was sources to the ecu which was changed. Car was running perfect untill 3 days ago
  7. I have an 93 na auto, for the last 3 days ive been having cold start trouble, engine is turning over no problem but wasnt firing up, after 10 mins or more it would finaly come alive. Once its warmed it has no problem starting then today i noticed once i put the foot down theres 5 seconds or so of delay before it takes off. Ive tried going through the auto gears on manual and i/d but the issue is till there through all gears. It seems to happen at lower rpms before finding its normal power, any ideas on the problem would be appreciated
  8. Lol budz trust me I know, only took me n minter 1 beer to figure the problem out tonight
  9. Thank god the car is alive again, swapped out the ecu with a 2nd hand one off ebay. Car runs perfect and engine managment light is off, fingers crossed thats the end of the problems.
  10. Still havnt got the car sorted, its now not starting at all. We worked out at the start of the week that there was intermittent voltage going to the distributor cap. We unplugged all connections around that area and found that the connector from the alternator was full of gunk. We cleaned it out and were able to get a full spark everytime we cranked. Still the car wont fire up. We then tried easy start in the carburator, car fired up but sounded like it was only running on a few cylinders before it died out after putting it in drive. Took it to my local toyota garage where they had it for 2 days , they told me they didnt have the diagnostics software to check for faults nor did they have any wiring diagrams for a supra, and as far as they could tell the injectors were not opening to supply fuel. They believe the fault is due to ecu or wiring fault but said it could take 12 - 15 hrs to figure out so ive had the car towed home again. Any ideas what my next step could be to solve the problem, its a bad sign when so called toyota mechanics dont sound confident working on a supra....
  11. Hey guys need some info, for the last week my supra is really struggling to start when cold. It turns over for 5 to 10 mins then struggles a bit before it finally fires up. It runs as normal once started and has no bother starting after its been run for a while. Engine management light is on and when I flashed it its bringing up code 12, camshaft crankshaft sensor? Ive changed the distributor cap rotor arm and o ring behind the cps housing but still have the same problem. Ive checked the pins on the distributor connector for the camshaft and crankshaft resistance and its showing the same as my mates supra, any ideas what else the problem could be?
  12. Turns out the guy I was chatting to on the phone was chancing his arm, took a run out to the dealer and showed him exactly what I needed, only cost £2.50 part no. for any one interested is T90099-14109
  13. I have a small oil leak coming from behind the distributor mounting, does anyone know the part no. or dimensions for the o ring, my local dealer say they only supply the full part and not just the o ring
  14. Sorry its been a while, finally have the car sorted. Changed the distributor cap and rotor arm, also changed the spark plugs again as the previous ones were for the tt engine, suppliers mistake thankfully. Rotor arm had a good bit of wear out of the middle of it and there was build up on each point of the distributor cap. Car running well so far thankfully, cheers for the input guys
