  1. Apex Tyres in Peterborough have recently moved into a new unit and have had £26000 of Sun equipment fitted - only one of it's kind in the country at the moment. We have had one of the cars tested (Smart) but not the Supra yet as I haven't had time to take it. I was going to scan & post the results on here when I did, but I think Justin may be close to Peterborough anyway if he wants to check it out. They are on Mancetter Square in P'boro, just of the A15/Lincoln Rd. Tel no. is 01733 575921. Mark is the chap to speak to, he is as straight as a die & very helpful. Cost is £35. I did ask why they didn't charge £100+ like everyone else, and was it the same checks, yes it is & he basically said he didn't need to rip people off to make a living...why can't all garages be like that! Unfortunately he only does tyres/exhausts/batteries etc. They also do very good tyre prices, get my S03's from there & he will undercut any price. They tweaked the Supra settings a few times for me (pre new equipment) on the basis of feedback from me on how it handled & I have very few problems with it - I have to be very silly on wet roads to get it to let go. It is set somewhere between struggling to turn in and going round tail first! (Don't have the figures, but mine is very lowered anyway) They love Supra's, but if one of the wind-up merchants there tell you they know a black Veilside with 800hp take it with a BIG pinch of salt!

Me too, it's easy with the wheel off - probably missed a few bits if they were dismantled, but looks OK behind wheels.
  3. This is maybe a stupid question but looking at the aero bonnet on the Jun site, I think it looks good but would it not let water in to the engine bay? I have thought this about a lot of the vented bonnets, this one looks as if it would channel all the water straight in, or do they have drainage underneath? Anyone got this kind of bonnet, or similar? BTW isn't the translation priceless, I particularly liked the 'epoch making body reinforcement..'
  4. All turbo timers keep engine running for set period of time, if you switch off & remove key without setting handbrake it will switch off after 5 secs regardless of what time you have set (HKS). If you have PITA alarm system from JIC you can't lock car until it stops either - but you get used to that. Good for the turbos to have one.
  5. Justin - no offense at all, Mike's sig cracked me up too! And most 'ladies' I know are scared witless of the Supe! Don't know what they are missing eh. Got over being a feminist years ago, if we can't laugh at ourselves who else! BTW sorry to be Ms Threadhijack chaps
  6. Darren, that's a result! I have a feeling that Lowestoft may become a popular Supra-owner holiday resort Re the spark plugs, Option replaced mine, they are HKS & I believe are a 'cooler'plug. They have been in about 10,000 miles now, no problems that I have noticed. Option charge £55 per hour, changed my rear pads on the last service, couldn't get the pistons unstuck (?) cost me 4 hours labour...couldn't see what else was done apart from an oil change. Paid about £400 in total. Didn't have the front pads in stock, promised to get them in a couple of days, never rang me, when I rang them a week later told me they'd call me when they were in - still waiting over 2 months later! Extremely underimpressed to say the least. Guess where I shan't be going any more...they are all very pleasant etc but that is not what gets the car serviced. Re the front pads, I bought some Porterfields & my local garage made a perfectly good job of fitting them for £30....
  7. Isn't it a shame all women don't have their own Supra....which she lets you borrow if you are VERY good...... Why don't you buy her one too, think how grateful she'd be!! Although having said that, I prefer my Supra too
  8. Mine has 'keys in ignition' - SO irritating! - but no beep for lights on - 99 times out of 100 switches the lights off with engine but not always...hence a very flat battery a few weeks ago! so I try to remember to switch off now. I got used to the buzzer in my MR2 & you get out of the habit of remembering! Mine is '93 GZ J-spec.
  9. I would like some too, probably only need the rears as I have 18" wheels - is there any advantage to doing fronts as well unless you have 20" wheels?
  10. I might be able to locate a RAV4, what exactly do you want to know?
  11. I have been running SO3's since May of last year, they transformed the handling & are wearing OK. I paid about £230 each fitted.
  12. When I had my landrover I was always patching the exhaust, had two methods depending on position & severity: 1. cut the ends off a drinks can so you have a roll, spread exhaust paste & jubilee clip in position over hole then wrap with bandage (can do two 'layers' like this) 2. split a short section of exhaust lengthways (PITA to do) exhaust paste & jubilee clip. Obviously second one more durable - most of my exhaust was made of this! - but the can version holds for a while. I found the foil in the kits absolutely useless, blew straight off. I had no silencers & twin tail pipes - you think the supra is loud..!! (Edited by francesca at 6:21 pm on Mar. 15, 2002)
  13. Far as I know, they do all the post accident repair set up locally. Best thing is to speak to Mark. Long rings if you call, they are mega busy!
  14. Apex tyres do my tracking, also tyres etc, they are very good & not expensive - just had mine done, cost £14. We have been going to them for years with all sorts of cars. Tel Mark on 01733 575921 (they like Supras a lot )
  15. Pete - sorry, I too have had computer probs, received an email from you & will reply asap! BJ & Bolts, thanks for that, will speak to Chris..sounds as if it would sort my problem. Foot on the floor - sounds OK to me..! Andy - would like the cat, will mail you too. Thanx guys! :cheesy:
