  1. Yes pin 9 had been pulled out of the plug i just couldnt see it. Engine now running.
  2. Hello all, I posted here a long time ago about doing a na5 to tt6 swap. Well im almost finshed the swap. Engine and loom are stock (jdm). Ive fitted a supralink ecu and done the set up there. Everything looks fine TP MAP IAT etc. Ive got triggers from both cam and crank as well as spark(timing is set). My issue is ive no power to the injectors at all. I know I should have 12v on one side but ive nothing. Ive checked the fuses and all the grounding straps but still nothing. can anyone point me in the right direction or explain where the injector voltage is coming from. Im not sure but i seen a diagram which made it look like power to the injectors came straight from the start key switch. I do have an aftermarket clifford alarm would this cut power to injectors for some reason? The only other thing i can think of is some sort of difference in the loom or fusebox thats causing the issue. Probably going to buy a new loom and go cop when i go single but for now i just wanted to get the engine running to see if there is any problems. Has anyone ever lost power to their injectors? I feel like im missing something simple.
  3. Hi SPG, I was under the impression the J spec Na came with a w58 5 speed from April 1993 – August 2002 and it was only the SZ-R Edition that came with the 6 speed manual. http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/specs.htm Btw ill be over in Scotland in October/November time for a week or so.
  4. Hi guys, Thanks for the warm welcome. All my questions have be answered in the technical section I have very few photos of the supra as ive just got it, and i dont have many photos of the DC5. But almost all the photos including builds are on my google drive. I will include a link to my "cars" folder. Hope you guys enjoy looking as much as I enjoy working on them. There is loads of photos in the s14a project folder. Happy browsing! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0WcBxXOmdL_YlRjT3RmalFrVjA
  5. Mike 2jz , you sir are a legend! Thank you so much for the advice. Didn't expect such an in depth reply and so fast. I will start the swap in October and post my experience on here. Cheers once again.
  6. Hey Scooter, The NA car is complete, as for prop shaft, i can get hold of a tt6 one easily. But most likely i will have a custom one made.
  7. Cheers Scooter, Already read the first link but didn't find the second, im going to read it now.
  8. Hi, Some background About a year ago i decided to swap out the SR20 in my S14 for a 2JZ. The guy i was buying the engine from also had a v161 which he offered me so i decided to take it as well, thinking i could hold on to it for a while and maybe use it or sell it later. Then i decided to go a different route with the s14 so i found myself with a 2jz gte and v161. So naturally i decided to look for a supra. At first i was looking at N/A Autos but quickly decided that it would be easier to start with a manual. After a few months i picked a good condition NA Supra. It already has the front brakes upgraded. Now I've read through many posts of people saying its not worth it, just buy a TT6 and be done. Reasons i don't want to do that. Already have the following parts: Non VVTi 2JZ GTE With loom 6 Speed Gearbox v161 Link G4 Supralink Greedy intercooler (from other project) Large radiator with electric fans(from other project) Complete Subframe from twin turbo supra including diff (lsd) , driveshafts, etc Igniter from twin turbo supra Tach from twin turbo supra Twinplate clutch including throw out bearing Two Bride seats with jza80 seatrails Walbro 255 fuel pump Now i know i could just start selling this stuff and buy a tt6 but besides having these parts i really enjoy building cars, the NA5 also is in really good condition and in a rare color. Plus i travel for work often so i dont really want the hassle of trying to sell parts from abroad. So i have used the search bar on here and it did produce lots of helpful information but i still find myself with some questions. First any modifications required to the harness going from a w58 to a v161? are the plugs the same? can i just plug in it and it will work? I believe there is an issue with the tachometer unless you get a tt6 one, which i did , however is there also any issues with the speedometer? I have an igniter from a twin turbo but if i decide to delete it with different coils does that effect the tacho? And if so what is the solution? In one of the stickys it said you need the throttle control ecu but ive read that you dont need it unless you want traction control which i dont. Is this true and if i dont plug it in do i get any warning lights? Ive seen posts where people say you need the relay for the fuel pump and other posts that say you dont, just want to know if there is any modifications to the fuel system , i have a 255 spare if required but more interested in the wiring side. no hassle if i have to wire in a fuel pump switch. Parts i don't have yet: Intercooler piping Exhaust If anyone has done this swap , any information would be greatly appreciated. I read many auto to manual swaps and na to turbo but cant find information on this particular swap. If ive missed anything or any parts please let me know. Cheers
  9. Hello everyone. Might as well introduce myself. I'm Ronnie, and I'm happy to say that i have just purchased my first supra. I always loved the mk4 supra and after looking for a few months i decided on NA 5 speed. My daily is a facelift DC5 and my track car is S14A. About a year ago i decided to swap out the SR20 in the S14 for a 2JZ. The guy i was buying the engine from also had a v161 which he offered me so i decided to take it as well, thinking i could hold on to it for a while and maybe use it or sell it later. Then i decided to go a different route with the s14. I Think some of you might be able to guess what I'm going to say next.................... But this isn't the correct section for technical questions! Unfortunately i cant seem to post in that section. I paid my 20 year membership fee this morning and can access new things, just can't post new threads in that section, so perhaps it takes some time or maybe one of you helpful folks can point me in the right direction. (Edit Seems To Be Working Now) Anyways back to saying hello. I'm a marine engineer and spend much of the year travelling, so I've plenty of time to read posts on here When I'm not in foreign lands I normally live in N.Ireland but I've also spent many years living in Glasgow. Looking forward to chatting on here Cheers
