  1. Hi mate , can you pm me your number please, I’ve got a few questions about the car. Thanks a lot

    1. Dieter

      Dieter

yes of course I could do it, but unfortunately I don't know how, I don't know my way around so well, or please write me a private message, maybe I can help you.

  2. Not sure of the tires but I know they were about £450 each as he told me when he bought them last year. He imported the car with most of the mods already done. I think he’ll be asking about 30k.
  3. Hi all, I would appreciate your help and advice. I have a friend that will be selling his 6 speed with single turbo hks t51r mapped at 750bhp and I am considering buying it. He has had the car for 12 years and has maintained it meticulously. It’s got some nice upgrades, namely stoptech big brake kit, defi guages, 3 piece volks alloys, hks coilovers etc. Current mileage is approximately 100,000. What would you consider to be a fair price to acquire this beast for given the market and where it is heading? Your comments would be appreciated.
  4. Thank you to everyone who has replied so far. I really appreciate it. The recommendations to go bpu first makes perfect sense. I will speak to srd with a view tonhqving this done.i do intend on keeping the car for a very long time. It’s a beautiful example that I was fortunate enough to purchase from a forum member. If bpu is as far as I go with it, should I look to upgrade the Jap spec brakes or are they regarded as adequate for circa 400 bhp?
  5. Hi all, I would really appreciate some advice. I have a tt6 in close to original condition. I’m struggling with the idea ifto modify it or not. By modify I mean go from twins to a to4z single turbo kit which I have access to. Do you think the added performance is worth it? And also what impact do you think it will have on the resale value should I decide to sell? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi all, looking for a front big brake set up to replace the current jap Spec ones. Also thinking of switching from twins to Single turbo, preferably either precision or hks. Can’t afford to buy new at the moment so checking to see if anyone has anything suitable that they are looking to sell on. What have you got? Cheers
  7. Well after all that he’s decided not to sell. Can’t say I blame him, it’s been his baby for 14 years. I’ll have to keep looking on the forum for something good. Thanks a lot to everyone for all their advice . One day, one day!!!
  8. Thanks for all the advice. Here’s another take. When modifying cars sometimes you can use the best pets and the most reputable garages but shit happens and there’s seldom any warranties as thatsbthe nature of the games. Would you say that in some respects it’s “safer “ to buy a modified 700 bhp car that’s stood solid for 14 years as opposed to one that’s fairly freshly built and has not been properly tried and tested?
  9. I will try to get a detailed spec list. Just would like to ask why do a lot of people go on about”updating”. If someone is happy about the performance of their car interns of speed and safety and the car has the figures to prove, why spend thousands on updating? Sure it may improve but only marginally , is it really worth it? And I’m not talking about maintenance
  10. That’s not a bad idea if anyone here lives close to Croydon? I wouldn’t want to put anyone out their way
  11. What has been your experience is absolutely aweful Tabz. And yes you are correct many people will shove their conscience by the wayside for money. In looking back at it, was any of the work you described obvious or was it more internal as in things you would not have known until you boaught the car? Thanks for sharing your experience. The natural instinct when something like that happens is apart from wanting to rip the guy’s balls off and feed it to him , you feel like a mug and that you should have known better. We as human beings and the guy being on a supposedly trusted forum and community I totally understand that you would put some degree of trust in him so please don’t be too hard on yourself either. It’s dispicable that some people actually use that fact to con others
  12. It has a T51. To be honest I can understand why he has not spent unnecessary money on “updating it”. He uses the car about once every 3 weeks, it’s fast as hell, always reliable, got very little lag, why spend unnecessary money on a car that more than serves its purpose just for the sake of it. I had another mate who had a perfectly fine fast reliable car until he decided to update it. He used the best parts he could source and sent it to reputable people to do the work. But as the saying goes shit happens and in his case it did. I think that a lot of car enthusiasts get caught up in the whole” I want to improve on what’s there and end up throwing money down the drain for no reason. As we all know , any update on cars like these aren’t cheap and when you sell you seldom get it back. Thanks for the comment though, it gives me more things to think about and more angles to explore so I do appreciate them.
  13. Yep, that’s what he said. I think that was the on the road price though. It’s got 18” 3 piece alloys, massive 8 pot brakes, gauges galore but really tasteful, not OTT looking
  14. No he isn’t . But he’s a very good friend of mine and he would always go on about how much better his car was than my r32 Gtr which I regrettably sold. He was referring to it’s durability and the fact that apart from routine maintenance he’s never had to spend anything excessive on it.
  15. Hello all, I’m new to the forum and would really appreciate some advice. A friend of mine is thinking of selling his heavily modified six speed single turbo supra. I’ve always loved the car since he imported it from Japan 14 years ago already modified. He has literally not done any additional modifications to it, only maintained it and it is a beast putting out about 720 bhp. It’s always just been his weekend car and his pride and joy. He’s not actively looking to sell but has said if I give him 26k which is exactly what it cost him 14 years ago that would seriously consider parting with it. Based on what I’ve been reading on the forum I think it’s fairly priced and definitely a bonus that it’s someone I know and a one owner car since being imported. I would like to hear what you guys think. Also I would like your opinions on the fact that since it’s already been approximately 14years at least since the car has had thos modifications and still running strong, is that a good indication that it should give me many more miles of enjoyment or after 14 years I should expect that things will begin to start needing replacing and going wrong? The total mileage of the car is 100,000 miles. Your comments will be greatly appreciated.
