  1. Guys Before my car goes to Supra heaven, any idea how I can drain the fuel tank.... Hang on, cant I just remove the pump and do it the old fashioned way? Lol
  2. Guys The one area of cars that I have not a lot of knowledge on is suspension. One of my very first posts lasts year detailed how I felt the front end of the Supra was very 'skippy' ie. your coming into a left hand bend with slight opposite camber on the road and the car doesn't grip, it just bounces into the other lane! Last night I took a friend of mine out for a blast in the Supra now its fully BPU (god its good fun!) and he believes there's something wrong with the suspension. Bit of history on the car, its a 94 Jap TT, the clocks state 72K, running on yellow bilsteins, whether they have been changed or not by previous owners is a mystery. I'm runnin 19's with 265 on the rear and 235 on the front. When we finished the test drive we tested the suspension ie. pushing down on each corner. The rears were very hard and the fronts seemed 'normalish'. This explains why the back end whips out far too easily as there's no cushion on the rear. I was about to order some lowering springs however my friend informed me that coilovers will allow me to set the ride height to whatever I want it to be, and with the current suspension woes, perhaps it's time to change them suspension? The car also vibrates a lot at 120mph (on a private road of course), starting at around 80mph an it's definitely coming from the front. You can feel it when braking also but not when going slow. The brake discs were purchased recently from a member on here and they're very good in terms of stopping power, having hardly done many miles. Few questions: 1) How do you truly know if the yellow bilsteins are fooked? 2) Are coilovers the way forward? If so, what brands are good and should I avoid cheap coilovers? 3) What else can I do to the suspension to help things? At the end of the day, it's a 20 year old car so thins probably need replacing. Poly bushes? A tall order I'm asking here guys but any information would be appreciated. Cheers Mark.
  3. Interesting, so I should be ok then.... What power can the auto TT diff handle?
  4. Guys Just a few simple questions in regards to going 6sp. In 2013 I went the w58 5sp route and this year I'll be going either the v160 or v161 route. With having all the tunnel and pedal work done already, is it simply a case of buying a gearbox and prop and bolting it all together? Obviously I'll need a clutch and flywheel but can I use the diff from when I was auto TT and all the clutch/brake cylinders/lines/pedals from the w58 or are they all different? Thanks in advance Mark
  5. Guys Does anyone know what the standard pipe size is that joins the first turbo? My silicon pipe is split and needs replacing.....its the one that then heads off to the intercooler.... Cheers Mark.
  6. Oh and yes I was using the stock ic with standard pipes before hand. Oh and I have had to turn the percentage compensation over standard boost to 24% to achieve the same boost... So it's def going somewhere....
  7. Yeah I've got a hks evc controlling the boost and I'd say it's getting to the same boost as before but I am having to use more throttle. That's misleading and confusing, let me explain. Before the change, the boost was very tight and on the damp roads of late, I've only been using wot when I'm already on second turbo (over 4k revs) and it then hits 106kpa (about 15psi), if I tried wot before 4k the wheels just span up. Now, it feels as though I have to use a more throttle to get the same response, almost as though the torqueness (for the want of a better word) has lowered. It def doesn't feel as quick. The turbo oil seals are leaking slightly and there is a lot of play in the shafts. I've some replacements coming so that'll help but I do think there's something else at large here.... I did notice a small slit in the black silicone pipe next to the first turbo.... This cannot be helping things..... Does anyone know what size silicon piping I need without me taking it off? And where I can buy it from?
  8. Guys Last week I had fitted an uprated ally smic and a hard pipe kit. Since then, the boost doesn't feel as tight and I'm def making the turbos work harder Is there a device to test whether there is any boost leak? I'm guessing it's leaking boost since the garage fitted it. Cheers Mark.
  9. Yeah I think so Ian, price dependant. CR Turbos can turn my turbos into stage 2 for around 1K so I'm very tempted but I'd rather put my cash towards the 6sp box that's for sale...
  10. Ok, I'll wait for your pics.... Can you check the amount of play in the shaft as well please.... Mine is like stirring a cuppa....
  11. I'm interested so keep me posted... Will it def be this weekend?
  12. Removing what mate? And what you getting instead?
  13. This is it..... http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/230676875561?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1
  14. I'm my own boss, best way I hold the purse strings. The non stock air filter was on it when I bought it. Its a piece of crap off ebay and is due to be replaced... Looks like it'll be replaced now! Never thought for a second it could be that but cheap build quality would do that... Hmmm The compression test came back 175 on all cylinders which I believe is good... So hopefully nothing has got in the engine.... If only I was buying a supra with the Knowledge I have now.... So anyway, fook it, upgraded tubs it is. Advice please guys...... Anyone got uprated twins?
