  1. I recently had a claim settled after a lengthy battle with the insurer as I disagreed with their valuation of my car.I was also not happy about the percentage of the settlement amount they attempted to hold back as salvage value. The car was involved in an accident September 2021 and claim was finally settled only a few weeks ago.Their initial valuation of my car was 17.5K and they wanted to retain 45% of that as salvage value.Eventually got to a final settlement of 20K and salvage value of £5950(29.75%). The assessor who came round to look at the car said he would have easily put value of 25K plus if the bodywork and interior did not require so much TLC. To be fair he wasn't wrong.I have been looking to get the car fully restored for a while. This now is a great opportunity for me to get the ball rolling with the restoration. They also sent me a cheque for a few hundred quid as compo for the long time it took to settle the claim.
  2. Yes they are.Not sure if I am allowed to put a link on here.I am reducing the price to £750. Cheers

  4. I understand that if your car is written off under category N or S you automatically have the option to buy it back.
  5. I did not have an agreed value. An independent engineer assessed the value. I am considering getting another independent valuation.
  6. The car was a daily driver. Bodywork and interior needs a lot of TLC,but I agree the settlement figure is on the low side. It has been a nightmare dealing with Markerstudy though.I would advise everyone to avoid them like the plague. No communication for several weeks and everything dragged out. Prior to the accident the plan was to get it fully restored at some point. When the insurance claim is settled,I am getting it booked in somewhere to have it restored.
  7. The plan is to get it restored
  8. Yes Keron. The same one still. The payout value is £17500.Its been a drag with the insurer
  9. Hi guys I would appreciate some feedback on insurance buyback values. My Supra was in an accident last September and I am still battling with the insurer to reach a settlement. They have only come upon a settlement figure a few weeks ago, but now wants to retain 45% of the pre accident value as I am keeping the car.I think this is quite a bit high. What has been the experience of other members with buy back values? Cheers Ant
  10. I have spoken to Higos on a few occasions about the appalling manner in which my claim is being dealt with, but got virtually nowhere. I also made a formal complaint at Markerstudy. They admit that there has been considerable delays and lack of communication on their part. They sent me a cheque for £250 which I still havent banked. A slap in the face really. I have also contacted the financial ombudsman who is now dealing with the case.
  11. Higos Insurance brokers. They should be held accountable for selling this crappy insurance off to people. I had no idea Markerstudy was this bad until I had to make a claim last year. The reviews are shocking.
  12. Pretty good premium.Just make sure the policy is not underwritten by Markerstudy. I was involved in an accident last September and the claim is still not settled. They now want to retain 45% of the settlement figure as I am buying back my car.Their lack of communication so far throughout the whole claim has been absolutely appalling.
  13. Thanks.Yes I am aware of Chris Wilson in Whitchurch and will most likely be getting in touch with him.Just checking if there are any good ones actually on Merseyside that I don't know of.
