  1. I guess it depends a bit on the water and what else is down there. I saw a video on you tube about an old crane that had been submerged in quarry clay for something like 50 years and really it wasn't too bad. You hear of stories of tanks being pulled from peat bogs occasionally in great condition...although I do conceed the body work of an old ford may be slightly less hard wearing than a panzer tank
  2. It would be cool to see some close up clips, I bet it can be rescued.
  3. Worked for me, limiting child tax credits to the first 2 children should have been done years ago and capping benefits to £20,000 is a good step. Nobody should get more for sitting on their ass than someone who goes out to work. Increasing the minimum wage whilst a interesting footnote isn't something I can see making much of a difference with the price of things these days, this needs much more of a boost to get away from the "I'm better off on benefits" culture. Fuel duty being frozen is good but already the price is getting back to what it was a few months ago. Also... • Vehicle Excise Duty is also being reformed. New cars will pay a variable rate, but beyond the first year, drivers will pay £140 in tax on most cars. Drivers are exempt if the car has zero carbon emissions. Hmm no savings buying a nice small economic car then?
  4. I would check the idle control valve and clean it out with carb cleaner, it's not too hard but a bit of a sod to remove the screws. Are you sure your coil packs are ok? I had a problem on the old one where it would die when speeding up and eventually it died altogether. If it's still revs ok I would check that control valve first.
  5. Yeah that should not have failed the MOT, I passed at least 3 MOTs when my old electric seats did not move forward or back. There are plenty of cars out there that have fixed position seats,
  6. Pretty much anyone 'fleeing' to the UK is not running in terror, they are economic migrants. If you are genuinely seeking asylum then you seek safety in the first safe country you come to, not travel across Europe.
  7. Get one made up in stainless steel that will be exactly what you want, I wouldn't want deal with mild steel exhausts again.
  8. Are they actually giving out keys when they upgrade you? At the moment I have chosen to update my 2 microsoft tech net 8.1 installs and my work 7 install but I'll probably yoink the work key for my own ends each to a seperate email address naturally. What we really need is a 64bit Windows 2000 (the best OS Microsoft ever made) with updated disk support, direct X 12 and all the other goodies.
  9. Hmmm, is the access point still configured to dish out IP addresses via DHCP as well as the BT hub? could be a conflict.
  10. I decided to downsize a few years ago to a micro ATX PC and case as really the only expansion cards I would use are a graphics card and maybe a sound card, plus I just wanted something to mess about with . I'm happy with how it turned out but having a smaller case makes it trickier to hide cables and route all your water cooling stuff. Got to think outside the box, literally, here's my current attempt, not finished yet though.
  11. What have you started You will now be looking at how to hide all the small cables to keep everything looking neat and tidy, I don't have a window on mine but it's still an ongoing battle to keep everything neat. I would look into getting a Nvidia water block from overclockers, I picked up mine for about 75 quid or so if I remember, I have it overclocked from 1218MHz to just over 1500, gives a nice boost and makes things look a lot neater and keeps it quiet, well worth getting but check if your card is a reference design.
  12. Even if it rains...you will get sunburn! It's tradition.
  13. From the pics it really doesn't look that bad. My car is in for a respray at the moment and the paint was a LOT worse than what you have there. I couldn't afford it either, just chuck it on the credit card and pay it off, that's what they are there for You can always get the bad bits sorted without doing a full spray.
  14. The veyron was a great technical achievement but jeez they all look ugly.
  15. I had this issue and it was the aux tensioner. Whifbitz just replaced the bearings and pulley on it which saved me a bit of money.
