  1. I do want a spoiler but I agree it has to be subtle, i.e. not like the Nismo one! Will have a look at the throttle controller
  2. Haha I do miss certain things about the Supra - you can't beat twin turbos over NA, and the wraparound dash was lovely, so apart from that it is a good replacement
  3. Well, I sold my GZ Aero at the end of last year. For those that can't remember (probably most of you ) my bonnet flew up on me in 2012 and cracked my windscreen and dented my targa top. I did source a replacement bonnet, but kind of lost interest in getting the rest sorted (I have every intention of getting it fixed, but somehow 3 years passed without me doing anything to it) So after querying what it was worth as it was, I had a lot of interest in buying it outright which surprised me, so I sold it as it was to someone on here. I will admit I was sad to see it being trailered away, but I knew I had to get another weekend toy. I knew I wanted certain specific things in a new car - it had to be around 200bhp+, had to be kind of unique (like the GZ aero), and had to be within my budget of 8K. So after 5 months of searching, I found a 350z roadster with the spec I wanted. Picked it up last weekend and have already been out with the roof down a few times , for those who don't know, this is the 2006 revup version which came with 296bhp, and it has the GT pack (heated leather, lightweight rays alloys, cruise control, bose 7 speaker stereo) and also the built in sat nav (which I have already upgraded with a newer disc). I initally only wanted it in black, but with the spec I wanted I only saw 1 in 5 months of looking, so thought I'd look at a blue one - and found out that the blue it quite tasty actually! Already started modding it - new JWT popcharger induction kit, LED bulbs all round, and bonnet struts/dampers - but there isn't much else I want to do aside from a remap. All in all, not a bad replacement for the Supra I'd say

  6. Got this left over after selling my supra Had this imported from the states at a cost of around $400 plus import charges, so around £350 total. (The company that makes them advertises them here) It fits where your usual factory sub sits (the big rectangular black box), and you can still fit your aero roof over it in no problems. I trimmed it in black leather but this is lifting a bit so could do with a retrim/glue This is an ideal solution if you want some serious bass but don't want to loose your spare wheel well, roof fittings, or don't want the hassle of making custom enclosures. It currently has 2 Alpine SWS-1043D subs in it which are dual 4ohm 300W low profile subs, and are connected via t-nuts and allen bolts to the box so easily removed. These cost £100 each when new, and have only been played a handful of times - pretty much just run in. They were recieving a clean signal from a genesis dual mono extreme amp (high spec), and they kick like anything! If anyone wants the box on its own it'll be £200 ono - collection only please, it is very heavy and I'm afraid I can't get a courier organised. If you want the subs included it'll be £275 ono - they are currently wired up to recieve a single 4 ohm signal (usual ohmage from most amps). Location - Norwich, but happy to meet around somewhere like thetford/swaffham/diss for anyone coming from away.

    What's it worth?

    Hi All The car went on Sunday to another club member, so hopefully it will re-appear on here again at some point! After working out the time/costs to get it back to working order, I think what I got was a fair representation of its worth. The damage may be slight, but the hassle of finding a new roof panel (rare enough!) and panel beating the existing c-pillar, plus a complete overhaul as it has been standing was too much work for me! Thanks to everyone else for their interest in it though

    The damage isn't too bad, I'm no expert but I think you could pop the dents out, source a new roof and you'll be good to go. The issue may be that it has stood for 3 years without turning over. I have had a member come over tonight to look at it and he feels it is worth what I thought, so it may be going to him for restoration, we'll just have to see. I know it may be underpriced but I haven't touched it for 3 years and it doesn't owe me anything really, and I'd rather it go to someone on here who can bring it back to how it should be

    It is the same one in 'view my supra', and yes it was a lovely car before the bonnet flew up on me! To be honest that sort of scared me into driving it again, after that the furthest it went was round the corner to the garage to get the new bonnet put on and the aerocatches installed. Further info, I think it was on about 110000 miles last time I looked (I only did about 2000 miles a year in ownership and the previous owner (soopdogg) has done a rebuild just before I got it) and there is no rust AFAIK. The damage isn't even that bad, it is purely dents with no paint breakage. I guess it could be popped/banged out by someone who knows about bodywork, or even filled and smoothed/wrapped. My only concern is that it has been standing for 3 years (albeit garaged) so not sure how that has affected the engine. I'm sure someone with some knowhow can spend some time sorting it though. I have just been out to check the car and noticed that it isn't actually the A-Pillar that is damaged, but the panel over the drivers head (i.e. the bit between the aero roof and the rear windscreen). There is defo no paint damage. I found a pic of the car after it happened and you can see the dented roof (the bonnet has been replaced since with a JDM spec one)
  10. Another WIW thread, sorry guys! The background is that I had my bonnet flip up on me back in 2012, denting the bonnet and roof. I sourced a new bonnet and had locking catches put on it. The roof and driver side A pillar is still dented, windscreen is cracked. I have had it garaged since with the intention of completely fixing it up, but have neither the time, knowledge or money. The brakes are probably siezed (it will move a bit when you push it with handbrake off) but battery is dead to try it with the engine on. I dunno if having it standing has affected anything else (i.e. the fuel). The good points are that it is an original GZ TT Aero 1995, resprayed in 202 black. Stillen front bumper, veilside spats, white/black leather interior, and it will come with some ICE (prob just a Alpine stereo and front speakers). It has 19" Jade Rs and a spare set of split rims that need repairing. Also has a Blitz SBC III boost controller and Power Meter, blue LED dash conversion, a new set of coilpack connectors and spark plugs, and various other spares. As well as the bodywork/windscreen, it will also need new door cards (they are cut with 2 holes for speakers). How much should I realistically ask for it to be effectively trailered away for someone to fix or break? I was thinking £5k just to get it off my hands but think that may be too high? Cheers
  11. Gutted mate, same thing happened to me in April, even down to the screen only smashing on the right hand side too which is strange. Hopefully it'll be a cheap fix for you, mine was roughly the same cost as my excess so luckily it wasn't written off and I'm repairing it myself rather than going through the insurance route

  13. Not too sure what's going on here, has happened a couple of times recently and I'm reluctant to take it out again without fixing it. The car will drive fine if I'm not hitting the second turbo. However if I give it some and go over 4k revs, then all of a sudden my CEL and '!' light flash up and it feels like I'm hitting fuel cut. Occasionally I'll still have some power (but it's a bit lumpy) but it'll rev about 500rpm when stationary, other times I'll actually loose everything and even pressing the pedal won't do a thing rev-wise. Not fun when on a dual carriageway! If I pull over it'll go off and then I can drive fine again. I pulled the code and it's showing code 14. Now I'm not mechanically minded and need to know where to go from here. From a bit of searching it seems that I may need to look at the coilpacks first? The spark plugs were changed last year but I've only driven about 200 miles since then. Is there anything else I should be looking at?
