And in addition to that, the new ideas that come along are often lobbied against by those who have the power and money to do so. And the politicians are often at their whim. But that's a whole new thread.

Same here, I have a Tesla Model 3 Performance for my daily. I charge it at home, and depending on when I plug it in, it's a maximum of £18 for 275 real world miles. I get 333Wh/mile, so 3 miles per kWh. That equates to around 80-100mpg at (home/Tesla prices), if I recall correctly. I only charge at Tesla or at home. Using the Shell, Inonity, BP Pulse or any of the other eye-wateringly expensive options alters that to mid 30s on the MPGe equivelance. There's dozens of euroboxes that will yield 3x that if driven well enough. We do not have the technology to push this idyliic approach, whether it be in charge speed, range, battery density, let alone make that available to the masses. We'd be far better switching to a synthetic, sustainable fuel to keep the ICE vehicles on the road.
  3. They have to compete with Drive to Survive now, so they need to create controversy, milk the politics, grab the sound bites and sensationalise everything. But they're still infinitely better than Mike Brewer.
  4. The departure of James V to Williams and Bottas to Alfa means that George has more of an equal standing and doesn’t defer to team orders. George is the real deal.
  5. I literally can't stand the guy, or CultLH fanbase. He wasn't bleating when he had a rocketship from 2014-2020/21. RedBull have done a superme job of making an aerodynamically slippery car, coupled with a highly effective DRS and a strong Honda/RedBull Powertrains package. Arguably the McLaren DRS system is highly effective, but because they're suffering with drag when the DRS isn't engaged. RedBull just have the consumate package at the moment. Hamilton's rants scream of entitlement and brat-like behaviour, and he's laid it at the teams' feet. When he wins it's him. When he doesn't, it's the car. I hope George spanks him this year.
  6. The safety car was shambolic decision. It hurt Ferrari and aided Merc a bit, so probably flattered Merc a little. I did have £10 on PER, VER, ALO at 11:1 odds, so I'll take that
  7. I've used a company called Manchester Metrology who will scan anything you send them (within reason). Decent prices too. https://manchester-metrology.co.uk/
  8. Here is my 2014 (64) Volkswagen Tiguan TSI R-Line. This is a rare car, as it’s the 7 speed DSG, making it the same as the Mk6 Golf GTI, just with a 7 speed gearbox rather than the 6 speed. This is the DQ500 box and is incredibly strong. R-Line spec is: 3x3 point rear seat belts ABS Alarm Alloy wheels Body coloured bumpers Driver`s airbag Electric mirrors Folding rear seats Front electric windows Heated mirrors Height adjustable drivers seat Isofix child seat anchor points PAS Passenger`s airbag Rear electric windows Remote locking Roof rails Service indicator Side airbags Steering wheel rake adjustment Steering wheel reach adjustment Traction control Cloth seat trim Front fog lights Lumbar support Space saver spare wheel Mileage is just under 42000, it’s used daily, so it will creep up. Car is in excellent condition, internally & externally. Engine is great and has very nice power delivery, the car has benefited from a Bevo Tuning map, which has boosted the power from 211bhp & 207lb/ft to 270bhp and 310lb/ft. The engine revs freely all the way to 6500rpm. I’ve upgraded the steering wheel to a GTi steering wheel, which has the paddles on it. The stock Tiguan wheel does not. That was coded in as was the visual speed on the centre display. This also wasn’t as standard feature. I've also upgraded the door speakers because one of the stock ones had blown. Xenon headlights are even and same colours. Aircon is cold. HVAC controls upgraded to later models. It’s a brilliant daily driver. Recent service in October, including Haldex flush to keep the 4WD system happy. The Haldex makes no noises and was pretty good in the recent snow/ice to be fair. I’ve owned this car for just over 3 years and 23000 miles, and it’s only ever been run on Super Unleaded. 4 good tyres, 4 good brakes, new battery fitted in July 2022. MOT till December 2023. On a long run, you can get 450 miles out of this car. I've driven from Liverpool to Tower Bridge in London and back again on a single tank, with 2 people and a suitcase in the car. Reason for change is an incoming new car. £15,000
  9. Here is my trusty Toyota Rav4, 5 door. 2004 (04) model. It’s a 2 litre vvti petrol automatic, which is quite rare for the mk2, most are manuals. Comes with electric sunroof. It's the XT3 spec: 3x3 point rear seat belts ABS Alarm Alloy wheels Body coloured bumpers Driver`s airbag Electric mirrors Folding rear seats Front electric windows Heated mirrors Height adjustable drivers seat Isofix child seat anchor points PAS Passenger`s airbag Rear electric windows Remote locking Side airbags Steering wheel rake adjustment Steering wheel reach adjustment Air conditioning CD Leather seat trim Full size spare wheel Roof rails Car runs very well, no issues to speak of. Recently completed valeted, including the engine bay. Economy is around 35mpg on a run, full tank will give a solid 400 motorway miles. Ideal family workhorse. We used this out in Spain for a short period, where it was faultless. Air conditioning still blows nice and cold. Headlights refurbed with LED bulbs. 4 good tyres. Good brakes. Leather is rip-free. New battery with warranty for 3 years. Had a full service about 4,000 miles ago with all fluids changed, including differentials. 4WD makes zero noises. MOT to June 2023, 99,000 miles. Reason for sale is that we never use it since returning it from Spain and it just lays idle, hardly being used and it’s too good to leave to rot. £3000
  10. Bumping these - price drop to £3,000
