  1. Well, Took the car into toyota tosday to get it checked and guess what, It didnt damned well rattle, seems to be intermittant,. They gave the car a clean bill of health, only thing they said was that i needed new clutch fluid. Admitedly they only gave it a basic check.... So I'm still at a loss as to what it could be thats wrong. Somebody has told me that it could be the thrust bearing thats worn???
  2. Thanks for all your help, Im going to get it checked out asap.... Hopefully its not going to be to expensive to repair...
  3. Nope, Not modded... Plain old stock.... I think....
  4. Looking for a little help here, If ive been for a bit of a run in the car I get a rattle sound when the car is put into neutral, This seems to go away if i press the clutch fully in, and comes back once i let the clutch out again. I can also feel it through the gear stick.... Is my clutch on the way out ????? although it doesnt seem to be slipping, no burning smell or anything. Infact until the car is in neutral you wouldnt know anything is wrong. The rattle is a constant sound which speeds up if the accelerator is pressed. Anybody got any ideas...
  5. I dont think there is a difference phil, I bought 18in BK604's for my import and they went straight on, they didnt ask if it was an import or not. Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  6. You could use Plastikote for it, black or chrome. Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  7. Personally, I wouldnt even think about trying it. Your going to give yourself a whole host of problems if it goes wrong... Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  8. Great thanks, Ill have a think about what im going to do. Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  9. My MKIV has what looks like Factory fit Bilstein shocks, does anybody know where to get replacements without going near main dealers. I searched the bilstein web site and found a place in the states that could do them for about $100 for a pair excluding shipping, although im not sure if its definately the right ones. Gordon T. 10. Well at least everybody seems to be of the opinion that its nothing to worry about... phew. I wonder though how noticable it is from outside the car, As if we dont get enough heads turning. :-) Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  11. I never even thought of that, Ive got a K&N Cone filter on it. Thanks. Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  12. While in 2nd or 3rd gear and at certain rev's I seem to be able to hold the BOV open so that its constantly hissing, It does eventually stop on a gear change. Is this normal? Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  13. I looked at a couple of soop's with the walnut dash before I bought mines, I didnt think it looked right. Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  14. Ill Get some done at the weekend and post them up... Gordon T. MKIV TT6
  15. Here's a ip for anybody that wants to put some new life into their dash. Well, After a while I got really bored with the DULL and easy to mark flat black finish on my MKIV's dash so I took the thing apart, removed everything I could and masked off the bits I wanted to keep (gear gator, Dials etc) and bought some of that Plasticoat spray paint (metalic black, although there are a few colours) and sprayed the whole lot. What a difference... unbelievable... Looks like a whole new dash... I tested it out to begin with on the ashtray lid, thought it looked good so continued... I was amazed at the difference and all for about 7 quid. Gordon T... MKIV TT6
