Hi All,

I am hardly driving my Supra, but as I have owned it from new it has become part of the family and therefore have never seriously considered selling it. Its service is due which, like the last few years makes me question whether to keep paying to maintain the car I rarely drive or to finally let her go.

Can anyone comment on what the market is like for selling at present? Any advice would be welcome?

Thanks,

tonite i finally got around to fitting my full 3" exhaust.

the exhast i removed was 2.5" but in part where it was poorly bent it was downd to 2" id say.

anyways. i took the car for a blast and what a difference. the turbo spooled sooner and was on full boost a full 400rpm sooner . and ontop of that it made 4psi more without touching the boost controller, i had to turn it down a bit .

the old pipe must have been casing huge restriction. but the car is running verry well at the moment so alls good. (touch wood)

an another nice little feature of the new pipes is that if someone revs it while your standing behind you can hear the turbo whistling down through the exhaust

front uk brakes

well finally got round to having the uk brakes fitted to my jap spec 93 tt,thought it was going to...

well finally got round to having the uk brakes fitted to my jap spec 93 tt,thought it was going to be an average job to do,

How wrong was i the first thing i had was the wheels on my hubs, they would of hit the calipers on the front if i hadn't of had spacers on thats not a problem there only 5mm ones, but the problem was when it comes to fitting the spacer and wheels there was only four turns on the nuts so that would be 5mm of thread, should be at least 75% of the bolt 12mm so therefore it would be 8mm give a little.

So the studs on the hubs i had off the car i was stripping are 5mm longer so after getting them fitted to my car and putting the calipers on checking for leaks bleeding and everything else i then am just about to start to take the car off the ramps i look at the steering wheel and it didn't look right wasn't straight so realined the steering wheel got out the car to check the toe and guess what the car is now toeing out about 25 degrees.

As i haven't got a machine to do the tracking i had to roughly set it up but it is toeing in a little now will have another go on friday when i fit a new rear off side top wishbone what a bloody night there i was thinking calipers, discs, pads done in 1 hour tops and 3 hours later its done with me and my mate john well johndoing most of the work (good lad)

on a plus i now have uk 4 pots on the front and 2 pots on the rear

Having spoken to Matt we have to admit defeat and say we are not going to be ready for a decent open day on saturday, coupled with the fact that the Brighton Speed trials are on that day as well AS jae, the place is still a tip after the move and the nail in the coffin is that despite buying a grands worth of motors we still dont have decent extraction in the dyno cell.

The intention is to have the dyno day on the 25th of september, this will work out better as enhanced performance are having their open day on the 11th so we will have more time on the dyno, we may even have time to do some 1/4 mile runs on the dyno;). Also my car may even be ready to do some power runs with race fuel by that date.

Sorry for anyone planning to come and we hope to see you on the 25th.

I now have an automatic gearbox. I got used to left leg braking and I thoroughly enjoy it. Now I am in the process of going down the Forced Induction route and am replacing the automatic gearbox to an R154 5 Speed tranny. The problem is I still would like to use my left leg for braking rather than for operating the clutch to change gears

I am wondering is there any way I can use a paddle shift unit with this R154 gearbox? Has anybody ever done this?

Let me know what you guys think would be a possible solution and are there any other option/gearboxes that are best suitable for use as paddle shift?

Nipped down the garage for some petrol, thought it odd someone was flashing me... got back home (5min drive each way) and noticed a kind off whistling sound.... and steam.... checked my levels, tiny amount in the resevoir, and the rad took 1.5 jugs full! I'm hoping this is the cause of the steam, not BHG or thermostat.

I find it strange that the gauge in the car didn't throw up a warning?? It normally rises to mid gauge quickly and stays there.

Hopefully (for me) this is just a nice reminder... on a long journey it could have been fatal for the engine!

Starting to think about maybe selling the Skyline:innocent: or maybe exchanging it, less hassle;) i also quite fancy something V8 or something Jap with an LS motor, would have loved that RX7/LS1 but he wants cash, just cant afford to supercharge or engine swap the Skyline, so i might look for a swap for something interesting.
