View Full Version : Event: Harewood Hillclimb - 15th April (Nr Leeds)
Something a bit different...
http://www.harewoodhill.co.uk
I'm arranging for us to have a parking area of our own and discounted tickets to the event on the 15th of April. if you haven't been before it's quite a good day out, good views of the track, fast-paced and a huge mix of cars, from single seaters to Minis.

I could do with having some names down asap so that I can secure the parking and things. Ticket prices are as follows if we book in advance:
1-9 passes @ face-value - £10 each
Pack of 15 passes @ £127.50
Pack of 20 passes @ £160.00
Pack of 50 passes @ £375.00

The link above should tell you everything you need to know but if you have any questions let me know.
It's also possible for people to take part in events there for quite a sensible cost, it's a very basic form of motorsport with few requirements, perhaps some of you will get a taste for it :)

Right, I need to get tickets bought and paid for - any more to add to the list before I do this??
If we have 14 people I'll probably pay for the 15 ticket bundle, these work out at £8.48 each I think.
I'll PM everyone who has put their names down later on to try and gather the funds :)

Tickets ordered, just awaiting an invoice so I can get them paid for and delivered to me.
Eagle-eyed members may notice my name is no longer green, this won't dampen my enthusiasm for organising things in the area and won't have any impact on this event.

Colour blind members will continue to be confused.
Tickets were paid for on Monday, just waiting for them to arrive - hoping to have them in time for the Squires meet next week so I can hand as many out as possible, will post the rest.
Are the Matt twins likely to be joining us at Squires this time around?
Tickets still haven't arrived, will chase them up today.
If anyone else wants to join us you can still buy tickets on the gate.

On the above map, the venue is just north of the red A659, and east of Harewood village.
Visitors from the South/Midlands, coming up the M1, should stay on the M1 after the M62 Junction.
(Do not take the road into Leeds). This link road runs straight into the A1,
and about 4 miles after joining the A1, take the A659 westwards towards Otley.
Follow the A659 (signed for Harewood House) through Collingham (bear right at the lights).
In approximately 2 miles, on the left hand side of the road, you will pass the Travellers Rest Pub.
After exactly 1 further mile, Harewood Hillclimb is on your righthand side.
Look out for the wooden rails. Welcome to Harewood Hillclimb !
Visitors from the North, travelling down the A1, should also take the A659 to Otley.
Having joined the A659, follow the instructions above.
*sigh* Tickets are still being printed, I'll have them "early next week" apparently.
Parking has been secured, Supras will be directed to the appropriate place on arrival.
Thanks for the updates Michael
Thanks for the updates Michael
No worries, I like updates :)
Worst-case I'll stand at the gate and pass you your ticket as you arrive but ideally I'll get them to you before then :)
Oh, I dropped them an e-mail and apparently dogs aren't allowed past the main car park. Shame, 'kita's becoming something of a motorsports veteran she's not bothered by the noise! :D

So, what'll that be then? A windswept car-park?

Nice one, I was still waiting to hear back about that - shame, I guess they have to worry about dogs escaping onto the track, she'd give them quite a scare :)

I suspect it will be an area of grass at the edge of the normal car park, sadly there isn't anything too exotic on offer at the side of a hill :)

But they allow kids in for free and don't even require them to be on a leash

Would really like to attend, are tickets still available? and will i be parking with the rest of the visitors or can i still join the other supra's?
Tickets are still available on the gate and with the way things are going that might be the quickest way to get them, still no sign of ours :(
Will call again tomorrow.
You'll be able to park up with the rest of us, just tell them you are from the MKIVSupra club and that parking has been reserved, hopefully that is more organised than the pre-booked tickets :(
Would be good to have you there :)

Awesome...look forward to seeing you all there.
Morpheous/Michael, I am now unable to attend unfortunately (long story). You can have my ticket and enjoy
Argh, that's a shame - the tickets aren't event specific though and I'm planning another one if this goes OK, you could use it again if you want?
I probably will go to the next one as I would like to put faces to names, so will do if it is convenient timing. But Morpheous can have the ticket for this one and he can shove a fiver in a cancer research box if he wishes
Have you got the tickets through yet?
Have you got the tickets through yet?
No, another message left for them and an email sent - I'm asking what happens if they don't arrive before Sunday because I'm not paying again!

I'll leave that with you to sort out, just let me know what to do with the ticket :)
Ticket office was broken into, tickets still haven't been sent - they have offered 2 options, post them today in the hope they arrive tomorrow or put them in envelopes for collection on the gate. I've gone with the second option, it makes more sense.
Unfortunately I don't have surnames for everyone so I've given them your forum username and the bit of name I know (first name) - I'm going to give them my mobile number and send everyone with tickets it in a PM, if there are any issues on the day ring me and I'll storm to the gate and kick off "Andy Hannah Style" ;)
Alan M - have you sorted anything with the ticket as yet? If someone else is taking it they will now need to give your name to collect it on the gate. If you want me to post it to you or hang onto it let me know.
Practice starts at 9am and timed runs start at 12:30 - I'll be aiming to get there around 9am, hard to say how busy it'll be but hopefully it won't be as foggy as it is today!
Is everyone OK with the directions? Any questions outstanding?
This might be of interest to some:

I am quite happy for Morpheous tohave my ticket Michael if he is still wanting to go. No worries if he doesn't, I am sur eyou will find a deserving casre for it. Cheers
Alan
OK, Morpheous, if that's good for you just turn up at the gate and pretend you are AlanM - I'll leave you to sort out a donation to charity as mentioned earlier or to send Alan a bag of crisps and a packet of Rolos.
Parking:
They are going up to Harewood on Saturday to sort this out for you so when you get there on Sunday if you're not sure, ask for Andrew Thorpe or Dale Cordingley and they'll show you where to go.
We'll see what happens :)
It's kinda coming together. Weather looks like it'll be good too. Might bring me Speedos and sun-cream!

Must apologise profusely for my disgusting behaviour :(
Will attempt to hide my car keys next time, and ensure brothers car is running perfectly :p
A shame some of you missed out but I had a cracking day, good company, great weather and interesting viewing.
I hope everyone else enjoyed it, I think I'll be going back on the 13th of May if anyone fancies it, I'll just turn up though, the £1.50 saving on pre-booked tickets isn't worth the hassle.
I took a few pictures and I'm just uploading them, if you get a dead link wait a few minutes:
http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/harewood-15-04-07/
The "spirited drive" back home wasn't all that exciting, sorry to Matt and Rich for picking a road with a caravan on it, hope you got fuelled up and escaped those Cosworths :) I ended up back in Harewood, Pool Bank was queued back too much,
See you all at Squires and maybe back at Harewood....
It was a very good day. I had a great time and thank you for organising the tickets etc. You must be the best ex-event mod evar!
