Vicky
Well my car finally had its upgrade from plastic lights to glass and they look fantastic, completely transformed the look of my car.....However, whilst it was being done the guy who was changing them noticed that a mouse had made its nest in my air filter and had chewed it to peices! Question is now, what new air filter do i get?? Which ones are the better to go for?

jamesmark
Stock is regarded as the best, if not the Apexi is the second best which I just happen to have one for sale.

Chris and Alana
Im confused on this subject, I have an open cone apexi power intake on at the mo and love the looks and noise but everyone says the standard air box is better because it keeps intake temps down. Now I also still have the standard air box with an apexi panel filter which im considering fitting tomorrow to see if I notice any difference. Sorry abit off topic but I didnt know if you were thinking of just getting a panel filter or an induction kit. In my opinion the Apexi filters are the daddy for increased air flow, and still offer a good level of filtration. If you hold a K&N up to the light you can see gaps in the filter element (not good) and you have to use that horrible oil retention additive to make it 'filter better'. Anyway check this out http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/ hope it helps

merckx
I don't see the point in getting a cone type filter unless you're running a single turbo and a standard panel filter is proving to be restrictive and you won't have the correct ducting either to use the stock airbox. Aren't they bought primarly for the fact that they look bling and make a nice noise.

Chris and Alana
Yeah it helped me too but if your now in the same position as me youve gotta decide whether to buy an open cone filter or a panel filter and stay with the original air box, unfortunatly I cant find any test results anywhere on that to help me
Chris and Alana
I bought mine cause it adds 51.2785347899 BHP extra honest lol, was that one of those rare ones with a built in flux capasitor that speeds up the air flow by
dr_blackman
But does it loose you power having the apexi induction kit, compared to the standard box with an upgraded element? I'm wondering this for my na?
RedM
Stock airbox with stock filter. Obviously all these other filters are better because, with just some different pipework, you can stick them into any car. Toyota with all their money and research knew nothing about filtration. I mean, c'mon, the stock box doesn't look cool or make a cool noise.
Nic
With Apexi filing for bankruptcy this week, then it won't be long before the Apexi induction kits become unavailable. If you are wanting an induction kit (and I agree the stock airbox is the better option), then I would recommend the Power Enterprise or Blitz Sonic Power inducation kits.
