Lonach Highland Gathering and Games, Strathdon, United Kingdom25 Aug 2007
One of the most traditional and distinctive of Highland Games, it begins with the famous March of the Clansmen from the village of Bellabeg. The Men of Lonach leave in full Highland dress, armed with pikes and Lochaber battleaxes, in the only procession of its kind in the world. The Highlanders enjoy hospitality at various stops before they take lunch at Lonach Hall. Afterwards, the march continues to the arena where the gathered masses of Highlanders create a unique sight, reminiscent of days prior to the Jacobite uprisings. Meanwhile, a programme of traditional Highland Games has already begun in the park with all the usual events. Matters are brought to a close with the Beating of the Retreat and later in the evening there is a Grand Dance

This is a fantastic event and if you camp over like i did last year it makes it 100% better. Its a big campsite with good accessability for the moded. Last year i took the truck this year i would like to take the supe and have a bit of a meet. There was no other car clubs with a presence last year but what a laugh.
