Anyone drive tuned supras during the winter months

Just wondering do many of you guys drive your tuned turbos during the winter months as an every day car? If you do do you think Traction control is needed?

Yes, some people do use the Supra as a DD.

Yes, TC (RLTC that is) is needed in my opinion.

Yep - use mine every day.

Don't have any trac control, only right foot and that works well.

Respect the power ... they step out with very little provocation - but thats half the fun

I don't have a 'tuned' Supra as such but I've driven it in snow and it was okay if a little slow.

I haven't yet used RLTC in the snow. I imagine it'll sound pretty good as I g..g..g..g..g..go on my way.

Mine's BPUish at 1 bar, but not had any real problems. The TC light was flashing like a christmas tree decoration driving up hills though!

Mine's only bpu but I use it everyday in all conditions. As long as you've got decent tyres and are (reasonably) sensible soops are ok.

If it's wet or slippery just make sure your in a straight line before tubby 2 kicks in.

I was just wondering as mine should be BPU when i pick it up but i wont have my RLTC for a couple of weeks yet.

Fair play though, ive a lot of respect for people that can drive it as a DD

DD here too, probably easier with a big single as you just keep it off boost in the very bad weather. I've got RLTC but it's not connected

Yep BPU daily driver with standard trac control.

BPU+ daily driver - I got to work in the snow today...but couldn't get into the car park! Stock facelift TC with "snow" mode is great...up to a point.

I'm buggering off soon, before I'm stuck here for the duration.

Im not even using my NA lol havnt had it that long so in the scooby i think thats the more sesible thing to do.

Iv only tryed to drive my Supra once in the snow, Never again I had to leave it in the middle of the road.

Mine use to be my daily driver and without TC a soft right foot is deff required.

My TT manual is my daily driver but it was pretty useless at trying to get to work in today i turned round and went home after getting stuck at a set of traffic lights. literally!

yup.. BPU blah blah... and no trac control - I removed it, its crap.

I use mine as my every day car to. Im only running 1bar and I use TC, it helps in the winter (well I find it does) but as long as you expect the back end to kreep out and your careful with you right foot its fine. The only bad thing about driving this time of the year is you have to wash the car so got damn much and its freezing

Use mine everyday.......today was in snow mode all the way to work. going up hills even buses couldn't get up.

BPU DD, all weather except snow. I just hate winter tyres. Had them on my MKIII, just kills every bit of fun. Better to leave it in the garage when it's snowy

Mine stays put this time of year I bought a toyota surf 3l ssxr for this weather. (import of course)

Is it possible to drive it without the 2nd turbo coming in? (Sorry if that sounds stupid)

yeah of course mate, just keep it under 4K

Only had mine a few days. Drives fine in the wet even when its near freezing. Tyres got loads of meat on them. No trac control.

I thinks its down to the driver as i was supprised by the road manners of these cars.

I used to drive quite happily in the snow in my BPU+ on 1.2 pressure Stock Traction too.

Well I struggled massively in the snow today. Barely managed to get the supra off my driveway and then got stuck on a tiny incline.

I find with the automatic, you can't drive slower than a certain speed when the car is cold and revs are high. As soon as I took my foot off the brake (however slowly), the rear wheels turned and the car stayed where it was.

So five minutes getting it back on the driveway, then I took the lotus out which handled it fine

i drive mine every day (420ish bhp), although ive not had it long.

but i couldnt get out my road this morning in the snow, even with RTLC and snow button pressed - so had to take the 106 its not even that much of a slope really, but other than that its fine.
