Hi all,

I have been offered a new job within my company, which means moving up north, from Bristol/Bath. Since I actually applied for this I have started an MSc in Project Management, which started last week.

I am unsure what to do and need to say yes or no by 12:00 Friday. The issues are:

1) Moving from Bath/Bristol where I've lived (mostly) since 1990
2) Taking on a new job where I would be responsible for delivering one our company's strategic objectives
3) Trying to juggle the job with the MSc which requires 7 weeks residential a year and a lot of assignments & exam revision in my own time

I also don't think I'll be able to get much of a pay rise, if any, as I know I am paid quite well for my grade.

What woyuld you people do? Please poll

How do you see the degree assisting your career in the future? Will it open up doors for you that are unlikely to open if you don't complete it?

It sounds like the job up north is a lot more responsibility for little extra reward too. I'd personally stay where you are for now and get the degree finished.

I'd take the job on the face of it but then where I work degrees have little to do with overall career progression, its down to proven in job ability.

However, I take it you'd be leaving family and friends as well though - its a big step to take if you're going to have a lot of new pressure at work without any kind of personal/social support.
