Hey, just signed up recently cos I've got my mind set on getting a Mark iv UK spec. I've downloaded all the guides that have been posted on various forums and they've all been brilliantly helpful. I'm a complete novice when it comes to cars but I know what I like and I was wondering what (if any!) the major downsides to being a Mark iv owner were or if there are any majour faults that I should be aware of when I go hunting in a few weeks.

Cheers.

Welcome!!

The only downsides are the cost of running them. Deep pockets required. If you look after it, it will look after you. The engines are bullet proof!!

Good luck with the search. Why do you want a UK spec??

Just personal preference based on some of the research I've done. It all seems to point to the UK spec version as the best "all rounder" but saying that I still wouldn't rule out a Facelift model.

Hopefully going up to Manchester to check out a couple that are for sale:

:welcome: mate..

I would check the mileage on the UK one (might be crazy high?), and I would check the second very carefully and I suspect it's just converted 'Facelft' head lights.. as the side blinkers are clear and not yellow.. (the dash should have three cutouts for voltage, fuel and temperature).

;)
