but its the ordering times which is pants.

easy enough to change, just real fiddly

To change em is it a plug and play so to speak ( i'm talking about the wires here not the actuall sensor ) or is it a chop wires and re-solder

And am i right in saying the sensor screws in the downpipe

Hi Jordon

Have a read here for a full explanation of what the oxygen sensor does.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_sensor

Very basically it tells the engines ECU (computer) the percentage of oxygen remaining in the exhaust gasses, the ECU uses this information to adjust the fueling to the engine. O2 sensors deteriorate after a few years, when this happens the ECU will receive a bad signal and automatically default to a rich mixture setting. This leads to low fuel economy and poorer performance at lower rpms. You should also find the engine runs smoother at lower rpms with a new sensor fitted. It will also help with emission levels, which can make a difference come MOT time.

The O2 sensors may seem expensive, but a new one can pay for itself in fuel saving very quickly, if your O2 sensor hasn't been changed for a few years, then I would definitely recommend replacing with a new one.

I can organise another group buy if there are a few members up for it.

A working O2 sensor is vital for good fuel economy, if you have not changed yours for a few years I would definitely recommend investing in a new one, as it will pay for itself in savings on your fuel bill very quickly. More info about what the O2 sensor does click here:
