generally the same as buying UK items...except they can sometimes have customs charges appiled and sometimes longer delivery times....no bad experiances with international ebay yet....if they say they will ship to UK then it should be no different to any other ebay uk item.

Its hit & miss if u pay duty, they don't check everything that comes in, ive ordered loads from the states, no probs, have had to pay duty b4, cant remember the percentage tho, it wasn't a lot. Only real draw back is ive waited up to a month b4, average is around 7-10 days from the states, ive found asia to average the same.

I just bought a new Chrome Blitz Electronic Water Temp Gauge the other day for £70 incl P&P from Japan - it normally costs about £175. The package came in birthday paper so no extra customs charges for me.

Try 'JapanDyno' on Ebay. The owner is a guy called Dino and he gets the stuff to you within 4 days.

There is something to consider though. Anything sent as a Gift cannot have a declared value of more than £50.

You order yourself something costing $600 and ask it to be sent as a gift, and somewhere along the way it goes missing/gets damaged its your loss unfortunately. The seller or supplier cannot stand by any insurance claim via the shipper/postal company as the item isnt a delcared value (insurance is worked out on this and added to shipping cost).

I learned this from experience a few years back..:(

Dino or Japandyno was set up to get parts into Europe, he has his stuff dropped shipped from Andy Keil who is probably the longest supplier of used jap parts on ebay "japandy".

I dont know if Andy still operates on ebay, but i was getting stuff in from him and Powerhouse jimbo way back in the day - talk about getting hard to find stuff! and building on a budget which didnt mean using Xspower and ssautochrome lol
