Guest Phillw454
hi, i got a 94 NA and it has a hks mushroom induction kit and full exhuast system ( i think), i was wondering what would be the best and easiest way to get some more power? i dont want to go mad cause il be upgading to a turbo in september, would i see much benifit from a remap? Ian W
no. you'd see no benefit at all really. i'd suggest upgrading the brakes or suspension in the meantime if you have some cash to throw around. EDIT: oh, and please change the hks filter back to a standard airbox (or at least a filter which will give some filtration)
Guest Phillw454
whys that? is the hks 1 poo? (came with the car so never thought about it)
Ian W
whys that? is the hks 1 poo? (came with the car so never thought about it) in tests it has consistenly been shown to be almost as bad as running no filter at all. if you're doing any kind of decent mileage then please change it back as you're doing your engine no favours by using it. Supragaz
HKS Mushroom is more for show and doesn't increase the BHP. The stock one is better AFAIK. You could double De-Cat as this should increase the BHP/responsiveness and make it sound better. Not much else you can do without going into internals and spending silly money

Not much else you can do without going into internals and spending silly money If you're gonna double de-cat then just make sure that it'd mate up alright with any prospective manifold that you'll use when you go n/a-t. Ian W
can any1 recommend a place to get a good air filter? if you're sticking with an induction kit then i think blitz or apexi are acceptable. first choice would be the stock air box with standard element though. Konrad
Apexi was best in jap tests. Going straight onto HKS mushroom place, no modifications needed. Anyway - I wouldn;t worry THAT much about HKS filter yet, England is kinda wet country, not too much dust or other crap floating around, so your engine is not kicked that much
