View Full Version : Computer clicking?
I've just had a continuous clicking sound from my computer case.
It was fairly loud, it lasted about 5 seconds and stopped when I thumped the case but started again a few seconds later, the computer then froze so I had to restart it.
It's definately not the fan.
Is this likely to be the hard drive? :)
more than likely,
its the only other part with moving parts if it wasn't the fans or cd drive
WE get a continuous clicking on OUR computer, but it comes
from the MOUSE every time Carole gets her hands on it ! ! !
"SINGLE click WOMAN !"
"It's allREADY trying to load WOMAN"
etc etc etc
[sorry to butt in mate;) ]
Keep hitting it harder, that'll make it all right :D

Sounds like the hard drive mate and the fact that your computer freezes during that period sounds right too.

I agree with that.
yeah most likely the hard drive
either just overheating if you are lucky, but most likely it might be on the way out - hope you have your stuff backed up !

Larger hammer ;)
Actuator seek error in the hard drive. Bad news. Usually an instant death too not very often you get the chance to back stuff up before it 'gets worse'.
